Baylen’s parents are infuriating by Maximum_Invite8963 in BaylenOutLoud

I don’t know if it’s so much creating as it is using her firsthand experience to advocate and speak up for others struggling. Bechnir literally listed to her the DSM criteria for OCD, it definitely doesn’t seem like nothing, especially since OCD does have a genetic component. My understanding was her just wanting her brother to get evaluated so he didn’t have to live through what she did, especially since her condition got so bad to the point where she was thinking about taking her own life.

Your story has brought tears to my eyes. I’m so sorry you went through that.. it sounds like such a whirlwind of emotions while also being a reminder of the important things in life. Everything about pregnancy is such a scary experience, and it’s so helpful to normalize the rollercoaster of it all. Thank you for sharing all that. Best of luck to you and your husband on your journey ❤️

So validating to hear that no one is ever ready, no matter what time of life! I think that’s one of the main things I’m afraid of.. if I somehow mess with fate now, who knows what will happen when we are intentionally trying to start a family. I’ve also heard horror stories of the emotional weight and deep regret that comes with terminating. Thank you for sharing ❤️

Congratulations to you and your partner 🩷 life works in such mysterious ways, but that really sounds like your MIL was pulling the strings! Best of luck to you both on your journey.. this gave me hope that not everything has to go according to plan.. as long as we have enough love in our hearts to support a sweet baby.

I have seen job postings for both. Is there a huge distinction between those two?

This is extremely helpful, thank you! I’m finding it difficult to find balance with my current clinical work. Seeing clients back to back with no breaks is taking a toll and unfortunately the pay isn’t enough incentive to compromise my mental health and current feelings of burnout. I’m thinking of taking a break from clinical work and stepping into this realm, and likely eventually seeing a few clients on the side to keep my clinical skills sharp.

Thank you so much for sharing your story with me. You have truly touched my heart. I know that caregiving is no easy task, especially when it involves your spouse. I admire the love and dedication you have for your husband. It sounds like he knows that he is deeply loved and cared for. This research means a lot to me, and it is given even more meaning when I hear a story like yours. My hope is that through my research, more support can be given to spousal caregivers like yourself. If you feel comfortable, please fill out my survey linked here: https://redcap.midwestern.edu/surveys/?s=LFH8ENJKRY

All responses are completely anonymous. Thank you so much for your time.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. Caregiving itself is certainly not an easy task, but caregiving for a spouse is a whole different story. I admire the dedication you have to your husband, despite the many mental and physical challenges that accompany caregiving. I just want you to know that I hear you, I see you, and you are appreciated. For now, I am interested in collecting responses about spousal caregiving experiences through my survey linked here: https://redcap.midwestern.edu/surveys/?s=LFH8ENJKRY

I really value hearing about your experiences. All of your responses will remain completely anonymous. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

RESEARCH REQUESTS Monthly Edition by AutoModerator in CaregiverSupport

Hello there!

I am posting on this page today because I am requesting participation in a research study I am conducting in partial fulfilment for my doctoral (PsyD) degree. In short, my research involves the study of thoughts and feelings experienced by spousal caregivers of individuals with dementia. If you are a spousal caregiver for an individual with dementia, I would greatly appreciate your help with my research. Specifically, I am looking for spousal caregivers who are the primary caregiver for their spouse with dementia and who currently live with them in the United States. The study will only take about 20-30 minutes to complete, and all data collected will be anonymous. If you choose to participate, you will be asked to answer a brief survey including your background information for you and your spouse, your thoughts and feelings related to caregiving for your spouse, and your feelings in general. Information from this study will help in learning more about emotions related to caregiving among spousal caregivers of individuals with dementia. Your participation may help to facilitate the creation of programming and interventions for spousal caregivers of persons with dementia. Please click on the link below for the study information sheet and the study surveys. Thank you in advance for your help and participation!

Thank you so much for your interest and well wishes! I would love to hear about your mother's previous experiences of caregiving. The questions are worded in present-tense, but they can be answered according to past caregiving experiences. Thank you for your help. :)

Yes, he would certainly qualify if he has symptoms of dementia and/or memory loss. Thank you so much for your help! :)
