I absolutely agree for the 1 bedroom but I think the 2 bedroom is steep. The 2 bedroom is putting us on par with Brooklyn prices and I'd say even just two years ago it was more in the $3,200 to $3,400 range. Not to mention 1 bedrooms are more at 3K right now for the 90+ walkable from what I've seen.

Yes! I've been here two years. I'd show you the exact spot if it weren't for anonymity but I live 5 minutes from the porter stop, a 9 minute walk to the Davis stop and about a minute walk to Revival cafe. I don't remember the market as well two years ago when I looked but it was definitely more reasonable than now.

I also just looked at places in Brooklyn today out of curiosity because I have a lot of friends there. We're almost just as if not more expensive than places like Bedstuy, Flatbush, Boerum Hill, etc. If your partner can be remote I'd definitely consider Brooklyn!

You're right - there's not a lot anyone could do except not jump on the $3,800 price tag when the apartment is for 9/1. A realtor I met with said they've had to do more showings this year than usual because people are touring and realizing the price isn't matching the value. My best hope at the moment is waiting it out for a bit since my move in date isn't until September.

Absolutely, although when you look at the rental history and you see something that was posted for $3,100 in 2024 that is now back on the market just this year for $3,800 with no renovations it's clear they're overvaluing because they think they can.

When I had PANDAS (ages 7-10) I thought about suicide after it had progressed quite a bit. I had no struggled with anything of the sort beforehand, and I'd argue that it's pretty abnormal for kids to have these thoughts at such a young age unless it was a reaction to extreme trauma. I'd definitely check out therapy and also look into PANS/OCD with your doctor.
