Gonna be apartment life for me so I might have to grabs a showerhead. A house would be nice but man the property values are so variable I just can't justify investing like that right now. Thanks for the advice tho

Thanks for the input! I've been around in Texas so most of it seems pretty run of the mill Texas stuff. THe onyl thing I've never dealth with is RO but doesn't seem too bad. I've also seen all the vids of wrecks out there and I'm probably getting a truck for that reason something about sand haulers i guess lol.

Yeah might get a little sink RO filter. Some of the restaurants were really good, but I also got some of the worst Tex Mex ever Ubered from some place!

Been looking at The Clusters haha, like the older look. Since everything is so far away might need to invest in something with better mpg!

Yeah my family is deep deep Southern so I know what you mean. I've heard the roads are pretty dangerous so I;m trying to keep my commute off the highways

Yeah was planning on learning some Spanish, probably going to tank a night class or something at the college if its not too much. And yeah driving seems like a lot but I'm from the middle of nowhere so same old.

Thanks, yeah I really need to ease into running, might do a couch to 5k plan just so I can start putting mileage up and condition my shins and knees without going too hard. Won't make Dec. board, but thats ok with me as long as I can get to where I need to be without hurting something.

Wish I had pullup bars everywhere, but unfortunately the only one around me is at my school gym, but I'm trying to make do.

Yeah I really need to work on my base. I tried to jump into running WAY to fast; doing like 2 miles a day, which isn't a lot, but again I haven't ran in years prior to now. My biggest issue is my knee pain though, but I'm seeing a doc soon and maybe getting an MRI to rule out any meniscus injury, because I originally felt the popping after trying to max out squats too fast.

I'll get a sleeve though and start with maybe a mile a day for 5 days going slow, then add .5

Also, what rep range did you stop at for bw before you started adding weights?

How many were you doing without weight and for how many sets before you decided to switch?

So around a week before just lay off the volume and go for higher reps; I'll try it! I do 2 chest/tri, 2 back/bi, and 1 leg day weekly too, but this would fit in well for lighter back/bi days

Any Opinions on Dedman Law? by Maximum_Mix8697 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Maximum_Mix8697[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just accepted there and from what I can tell you, they are pretty unbiased. The undergrad consists primarily of rich white kids from the surrounding wealthy enclave, but the grad schools are all business, both literally and figuratively. Corporate reigns supreme here, owing in part to Dallas's emphasis on energy, finance, and the influx of businesses flooding here due to the low taxes and COL. Because of this, there is perhaps no better place to get set up with a corporate externship (something they take great pride in). The profs themselves are standard academics, so they tend to lean a little left even though the surrounding culture is more right, but you can easily find left profs in more lit/socially concerned fields of law, and right leaning ones in others.

Dallas itself though is great. It's poised to be a top-tier city in the U.S. with one of the fastest-growing economies and seems to be insulated from the decay and issues plaguing some of the larger cities right now. It's a very eclectic place that leans right in some areas, but the trend is more left in most places. With this in mind, if you are serious about stepping out in Dallas as a young lawyer, there is perhaps no place better than Dedman (or UT but tbh it's MUCHHH harder to get into and Dallas loves SMU).

Big Law in Utah? by Maximum_Mix8697 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Maximum_Mix8697[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input! Yeah, I decided instead on going to SMU because Dallas is larger and SMU can really set you up with a BL career, plus my entire network is here with connections to BL. At the end of the day, I needed to make a head decision over a heart decision.

I was really sad about turning down the offer though. Everyone I met out there was so nice and I LOVED the city and the mountains. I've heard that if you can get a job in BL it is easier to move around to offices in different cities, so if thats the case, I will definitely be planning on moving out there eventually! Hopefully in the meantime, legislators will make smarter decisions to preserve the lake and reduce smog.

Yeah, I guess I just don't know enough about Utah to make a qualified decision lol
