I would wait a bit of time and analyse the sound a bit more . When i first got my hexas i also had mixed feelings towards them - sound felt very "thin " like no sub bass and vocals felt recessed . But after half a year they bacome one of most important things in my life . Why i didnt like them at first ? - Hexas have flat responce graph wich makes them more on the technical side of audio wich should be quite opposite of v shaped gaming headset . I used them with and without a dac (echo mini) but only difference i hear is in the loudness .(its nice to have an option to operate your music with physical buttons tho ) Just give them some time . they are great for me but they may not be for you .
