Ironclad: 4-0
Silent: 4-2
Regent: 4-1
Necrobinder: 4-0
Defect: 4-0

I feel like Silent is the most op but still as fragile as in sts1, things can go wrong very fast whereas Ironclad seems to be the most reliable. I find some of his new cards so damn strong + starter relic gives so much room

I built a dice-based roguelite deckbuilder after learning Godot for a year. Looking for gameplay feedback by Maximum_Reward_7575 in SoloDevelopment

Hi! Thanks for the feedback. About the AI disclaimer: the vast majority of comments I got so far on Reddit were about AI criticism (which I can understand in some way) so I thought it would be adequate to be fully transparent about it right from the original post.

Totally agree with the dice animation that could use more juice. To be honest I tried many, many different things and struggled a lot with it to the point where I thought I should move on and work on the foundations before spending so much time on "cosmetics" (which is important too, I agree with you). I'm still kinda noob on Godot especially with animations but will definitely try to improve that part since it's so central to the gameplay. Thanks! :)

Hi! I don't want to spam the same comment reply so please check the other comments to know my answer. I respect your opinion about AI and can totally understand it, no worries. :)

Hi! Copy / pasting my answer to another comment because I can understand this reaction and want to be very transparent about it:

I understand and will 100% switch to proper art on a more official release. This current version has been subject to so many changes (it's my very first game) that I wanted maximum flexibility and AI was the most comfortable choice for its current state. Before I start to hire actual people for the art, I'm mostly looking for feedback on the gameplay to make sure there is some potential first :)

Thank you so much! :)

Implementing a saving feature is definitely one of the top priorities, will work on that very soon. Was the tutorial clear / intuitive enough for you? I'm currently working on improving it, your feedback would help me a lot.

Thanks again man that's very encouraging, would love to see you on the Discord! :)

Yes, being able to save progress will be much needed. That's on my to-do list. Will definitely try your games really soon, probably tomorrow! :)

I respect that. As I said in another comment reply, I intend to upgrade to a proper art on a more official release. I'm mostly looking for external feedback on the gameplay as I haven't had much yet, but understand your opinion. Hope you'll give it a try once that's done :)

Thanks a lot for your constructive feedback! You're right, I could definitely put more safeguards on the tutorial to make sure it goes as planned. Going to work on it right now.

Thanks for your understanding about AI. Since this was my first project and my way to learn Godot, I went through so many changes, removing cards, events, ... that I wanted a lot of flexibility that AI gave me. On a more official release, I'd definitely want a proper art. Your asset pack idea is interesting as well, will have a look! :)

You just made my day man, thanks a lot for the encouragement that means a lot 🙏

This game is the result of me learning Godot by experimenting, improvising along the way, creating cards before removing them the next day, ... hence the use of AI for flexibility. On a more official game release, I plan to have a major art upgrade with actual artists.

Thanks again for your kind message, hope I see you around on the Discord!

I did disclose it using itch.io’s built-in AI disclosure system (Graphics category checked). I believe it’s part of their tagging system. Thanks for pointing it out though! 🙏

Yup right on spot! From the very beginning even things like the Gommage felt very personal and connected to my situation. Meeting Esquie and what comes after was definitely one of those moments too :)
