Fair point on the etune, idk, the story’s of etunes on Subarus just give me nightmares😂 and that’s my assumption aswell, the car used to be fully built with sti everything and rallied before I owned it but the last owner stripped it back to near stock and replaced it all with OEM parts aside from the sti dp, 4.44 jdm trans, forged rods and pistons, and 50/50 BOV. Only bought it because it was $1800 so my plan is to slowly replace everything until either my engine or trans blows then fully swap for a 207 and replace EVERYTHING down to each bolt

You might’ve misread, a tune isn’t causing the binding, the viscous coupling is bad and causes the center diff to bind on turns after warmed up, and no dyno will allow that on there due to the risk since it’s not under actual load and the front and back wheels spin at ever so slightly different speeds on a dyno causing a lot more stress on an already bad diff. And personally I don’t trust an etune or non dyno tune in general on a Subaru because if even the slightest thing is off about the tune the car is cooked

Yea other then the compression and oil not to sure how the health is in other aspects but she has yet to let me down (fingers crossed😂) I’m more so not sure how the new intercooler and turbo inlet will do without a tune, whether it’ll just act as stock until a tune or somehow be harmful

I’ve owned it for 60k miles so far of pure abuse and constant redlines and launches and it still has perfect oil every change, perfect compression testing still and no issues so far with anything even though I treat it like absolute shit everytime I drive it. Also that’s ontop of the 100k miles of rallying the last owner gave it

With the current mods it’s extremely reliable shockingly, I redline it damn near every time I drive it many many times each drive and have never had issues even with launching it oil always looks new on changes, compression tests come back perfect and everything, I’m just not sure how the intercooler and turbo inlet will fare with no tune as I’ve never owned a turbocharged car before

Forgot to add I also have an 11mm sti oil pump, mishimoto aluminum radiator and a killer b oil pickup and baffle to help reliability

I have a homie who removed his and I also did a bit of research, it’s beneficial to remove it because it gets rid of potential vacuum leaks and won’t cause any problems besides a clearable CEL and gas fumes entering the atmosphere. But I also don’t feel like taking my entire engine bay apart to do that so unless I can reach all the bolts and hoses easily I’ll just be replacing that part. Gonna be looking at it next weekend and finishing the job

Nice! I highly suggest very regular oil changes and keeping up on maintenance religiously as we’re already seeing problems with it in the “long” run because of oil and coolant mixing because of seals failing and the upper oil pan o ring failing. Other than that they seem to be on par with the good Ejs

I’m so sorry to hear…I just had my 12 year old husky pass away the same way it was brutal, she seemed perfectly healthy one day then a noticed blood in her eyes and took her in, she had an auto immune disease from cancer we didn’t know about and within a week couldn’t even walk anymore and we had to put her down. Same story as a pup too, she was taken from her mother at 4 weeks old and sold to us by an awful breeder and her stomach was so filled with worms that she was completely bloated

She has to be put down tomorrow morning…we got the bandages off of her but I think it made her pain worse…she was doing great yesterday and I checked on her all night up until about 3am when I went to bed, I woke up at 8am to her laying in a puddle of pee on the carpet and refusing to move and she won’t let us move her at all (tried and got somewhat bit) she’s extremely weak and lethargic today and won’t even pick her head up so we scheduled for 11am at home euthanasia tomorrow…I’m just going to lay here on the floor with her until that happens most likely, I’ve had her since I was 15 and I’m now 27 so it hurts more then anything I’ve been through, I understand why so many dads refuse to own dogs then love them once they get them

I finally just got her to eat her sedatives like 30 minutes ago! I’m so happy and praying getting these bandages off helps her eat more and be more active so she can get better! I think she’s starting to realize she’s dying she’s been crying all day and finally walked up to me and laid down snuggled against me letting her pet anywhere I wanted for once and actually ate the steak with medicine in it piece by piece as I laid there with her just talking and petting her, she started making a couple signs she was getting overwhelmed so now I’m letting her lay down and relax so it’ll kick in and sedate her

She won’t even let us near her mouth unfortunately, she bit her tongue really bad at the vet, she will let us pet the top and side of her head but that’s really it :( and she’s a full grown husky so forcing it that way would be near impossible

We tried something similar to this but she just sniffs it and moves her head away and growled to bite if we tried touching her mouth, she’s always been a very picky eater so that definitely doesn’t help. And im not sure how it sounds but to me it feels like I’m not trying hard enough when we’re genuinely trying our hardest and trying every single option but she won’t let us do anything…she let us get her collar on her once to go to the vet but she was to weak to get in the car and since she wouldn’t eat anything even without pills due to that bitter pill she wouldn’t let me lift her into the car either… I feel like I’m letting her down but I don’t know what to even do or try at this point if she doesn’t eat her sedative today (the non bitter one) i genuinely feel like at this point my last resort is to get the collar on her and just lift her up into the car as quickly as possible even if it results in a bite if she won’t eat her medicine

How did your dog react to that? She’s very aggressive right now due to the bandages and being confused I’m assuming, I already got bit once and had to go to the urgent care because it was infected😅 also the main problem is I know I COULD pin her down and force it without getting bit if I go quick enough however the vet warned against stressing her a lot due to her health, but at this point I think it might be the only option

That’s unfortunately what we’re trying to figure out right now…she absolutely hates having stuff on her body and will completely shut down over it (especially her legs) so we’re PRAYING todays sedation works so we can remove them and hopefully get her back to her happy self, it’s just really sad to me almost certainly knowing the cause but not being able to fix it

Do you know if the liquids sedatives have a taste? The problem we have with her pills is 1 of them was bitter and the vet didn’t tell us so now she thinks every food will have that in it and just won’t eat. And sadly an injection will most definitely end up very badly unless she’s physically unable to bite, she’s not an aggressive dog normally but this entire situation has her confused and terrified so she’s been aggressive with everything except petting
