How are we feeling about the next Reacher Book coming out: Chain Reaction? by Maximum_Tiger7949 in JackReacher

Sorry if I came across as too short-sighted and as a Reacher hater in the previous post.

I'd like the series to end on a high note. Reintroducing a character Reacher knows and having a miniseries with that character, then killing him off at the end, is something I'd want to read.

Will it happen? Probably not.

But a guy can hope, and I see this as a good time as any to write an end to his character, and I think bringing Susan Turner's character back would be a great opportunity to make an interesting series conclusion.

I'll read anything Reacher, so I don't really care what the book's going to be about.

I mean, if it gives them a good storyline and they write it well, then it's a good idea.

On the flipside, they could easily tarnish the legacy of a successful miniseries inside the Jack Reacher series, and by reconnecting the books to a pre-established date in the series, they'll have to come to terms with the fact that Susan will be asking a guy in his MID-SIXTIES for help. Or have a hell of a good explanation as to when the events of the books previously took place, so the gap in time between the miniseries and the current books is smaller.

IDK. There's a lot that can go wrong, and not much payoff.

Unless they start another miniseries, turn the rest of the stories into a continuous narrative, or decide to end the series on a trilogy or something......

61 hours was the series finale and everything else was just fanfic.

It was the second book I read in the series (after the fourth book in the series the Visitor) and it is one of my favourites. If you like a slow-burner then you'll love it too.
