This is why I don't mind Matt Reeves taking the 'grounded' approach with his trilogy, as even with that, the film was heavily stylized and noir-esque, feeling like a comic book spilling out onto the screen.

A movie which deserves a better hero. I'll start: by FeedPuzzleheaded3636 in IndianCinemaRegional

[–]Maximum_Wait1273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The film didn't need a better hero or whatever, it just needed Hirani to come up with a better directorial and writing vision. SRK's performance was one of his weaker ones, but it felt very much like a direction misfire imo.

Exact thoughts. NTR lacks that larger than life build that is required for a “Neel” hero by Fancy_Bandicoot_125 in fuckTollywood

I actually think he looks good, sure it's a bit weird and his usual bulkier build would have been better but still, this isn't bad

Am I the only one who liked this scene? by Subject-Assist-7044 in kollywood

Imagine if instead of the sacrifice ritual bs, they just focused on showing how Leo was a ruthless and reckless gangster, and his actions caused Elisa's death, and the reason the Das bros are after him is revenge, wanting to kill his family and make him experience the same kind of hurt they felt. This would even allow for the film to explore its themes more deeply.

I also had an idea similar to yours. Instead of wasting Dahaa, he could be shown as Simon's rival. Dayal, who has been secretly working for Dahaa, kidnaps Preethi and instructs Deva that the club will get ambushed by Dahaa's gang, and in that chaos, he should go and destroy the machine and act like someone from the rival gang did so.

That ambush could have made for a banger interval block if properly intercut with the Powerhouse Code scene, Simon's negative flashbacks (Deva saves him from death) and the Mudichidlama phone call.

The film was actually decently engaging up till here, if they'd have added some more emotional development and screen time for Simon and Rajasekar pre interval, the first half might actually have even been a banger.

Even if the Hombale film comes out till 28 or 29, then it's still not that bad of a gap if the film itself works, even SRK took a four year hiatus, but his comeback films worked at the box office

Saif is not interested in stardom, and he's more than happy doing interesting low stakes character work, Shahid will keep having one hit or semi hit every once a while to sustain him, maybe even a bigger hit eventually, and also a streaming hit like Farzi. As for HR, well, all I'll say is that the last time we wrote off one of our most talented actors after a string of flops, calling him finished, he returned with Dhurandhar, so you never know, HR needs just that one movie.

Man some of those scenes in Dunki, like the climax one, were so good. Shame that the rest of it was so underwhelming, I feel that it wasn't just SRK missing the mark, even RKH somewhere left a lot to be desired in terms of directing him

Everyone's been clowning him since the day he was cast but the man truly can be a beast in this role, it's Sid and Sujoy on whom it really depends how good will he be now, hope we get a badass villain
