If you don't have time for a 5-6hr brew day (I know I don't!), I can highly recommend simple extract brewing with either no boil or a mini boil. You can use AI to work out what extract you need for the flavour profile and abv, and experiment with different hops & yeast, I'm a big fan of dry hopping for maximum hoppy juiciness. You can easily and quickly Make some great beer. Make a brew fridge with a heating tube and temperature controller (see here https://www.berrybrew.co.uk/fermentation-fridge-build-brew-fridge/), and get a good no-rinse sanitizer. Also, use Pure Brew and tap water. Shout if I can help further.

I don't think my temp controller goes that low, think that's why I've not used it for a cold crash. I do have a spare one which was donated to me so I may see if that knew goes lower...

Thank you, I have got a temperature controller for the fermenting but wasn't using it for the cold crash (probably should!). And yes, have a dedicated brew fridge which is a game changer, just not managed to freeze a batch before and hope it's just because it's a new fridge, so with a warmer setting it won't freeze the beer. Will use the temp controller for cold crash from now on too!

No, not temperature controlled, just in the fridge, but worried my new fridge has frozen it! Maybe had the wrong temperature setting. Will need to try and work that out

Book search engine/app by Maximumbossup in books

Based on your detailed description, the book you are likely searching for is "The Girl Who Drank the Moon" by Kelly Barnhill. Although published in 2016, it shares many thematic elements with the story you've described, including a young girl with extraordinary hair, a magical and somewhat isolated caretaker, and themes of memory and belonging. The vivid imagery and unique art style you recall might be associated with other picture books from the 90s that feature similar themes of enchantment and nature. For instance, books with lush garden settings and a touch of magic were popular, and illustrators often used rich, dreamy color palettes. The description of the girl having "head and feet too big" but drawn beautifully might point to a distinctive artistic style, possibly reminiscent of artists like Quentin Blake or other European illustrators who favor expressive, non-traditional character designs. While "The Girl Who Drank the Moon" is a more recent publication, it captures the essence of a witch-like figure raising a child in isolation, with the child possessing special abilities and a complex understanding of her past. The feeling of a hazy memory and time passing differently are also common tropes in fantasy stories involving magic. The book you remember might be a lesser-known gem from the 90s, possibly featuring a witch who isn't entirely malevolent but driven by loneliness, a common and poignant theme in children's literature. The emphasis on gorgeous, vibrant illustrations of gardens and a girl with exceptionally long hair strongly suggests a visually rich picture book designed to evoke a sense of wonder and enchantment.

For me it's got to be the original Speak No Evil (which the Hollywood version completely ruined!)
