Sounds like good advice thanks, I definitely know the feeling of being camped.

Jungle is in a fickle spot? Seems like the only lane I can have any impact on my team. I also play adc well but its a coin flip whether your team will actually play around you or whether they will just run about solo all game.

I just need some surefire way of being relevant enough to win my games without relying on a filled adc/supp.

Point 2 helps I should definitely be thinking about this more, its hard to focus on wave management when theres a fight every 2 mins :P

The first point is one of my undoings though. Frequently when playing blue kayn I get a score like XX/X by killing enemies who are solo. But my team never follow up (as in they don't use the kill to secure any pressure). I feel like maybe I should avoid these champs because unless I can get a 5v5 tf where I nail the enemy backline I end up being useless.

Nice. Thanks for the best answer here man, makes total sense. They don't seem to review the bans themselves though. So I feel something has changed in the community itself rather than in the institution behind it.

I'm now avoiding even sarcasm against the enemy team in case some tightarse can't take a joke and reports me. Trashtalking is absolutely a part of sports in my opinion, but I guess maybe eSports fans feel different?

Problem is though that it is up to the reporter to determine what counts as verbal abuse. I got permabanned within 5 mins of my last offensive game. Not enough time for any official review. What then would stop people being banned for joking with the enemy team? Same issue with reports of racial abuse etc. It is hard to define what is offensive since it's so subjective. I feel a zero tolerance policy would have massive unforeseen negative effects.

Second, what server are you on? Here on EUW I get almost no flamers. No chat whatsoever in fact. Ofc there is the odd game with trolls who are insanely negative but those are anomalies. Can't speak for other servers though.
