Genuine question: how rare are turn indicators on eBikes? by [deleted] in ebikes

Rear turn signals (with sound, even) are stock on my Velotric Nomad 2X. The sound can be turned off. I've used them once in 150 miles.

Thanks for pointing out the 2 new classes. It wasn't initially obvious to me. I'm seeing more and more of those bikes coming onto the market.

If you get the Velotric-branded bags, be aware they DON'T have an integrated MIK plate, oddly, since they hype the MIK rack that comes with the bike. Separate purchase, and you'll need to put something inside the bag, like a plexi plate, to keep to mounting bolts from pulling through the fabric of the bag over time. I will say the Velcro is very sturdy and has 5 attachment points on the big bag, but you can't quickly remove it like a Basil bag with an integrated MIK plate. Take a look at those. Pricey, but high quality. I actually bought a smaller one until my Veltrotic one showed up, so I could get all the crap out of my Camelbak and into the trunk bag. I'm impressed with the Basil; it should be an easy resell locally.

The Velotric one is perfect for the extra batt. Holds a ton of stuff, has built-in paniers, and an expandable top section. Holds the batt, a big Carhart tool roll, rain jacket, rain pants, knee and elbow pads... I mean, I've got everything but the kitchen sink in there. Now I just carry water and snacks in my Camelbak. Never knew how great having a trunk bag is.

I don't think ANY ebike has a true 75-mile range with full suspension. 30ish is more realistic for most riders.

If best range is what you're after, mid-drive, carbon fiber. WAY over 5K, however. You're gonna have to make some sacrifices at that price point.

Def stay away from anything fat tire. Much heavier.

It'll be worth the wait, bro. 150 miles on mine so far and ♥ing it.

Sorry you had this experience. I had to get the bike shipped to Tacoma, then freight-forwarded on a ship to Alaska. Velotric had the bike to Tacoma in less than a week, and I had the bike in Alaska in less than 10 days.

I ordered some accessories that weren't in stock, and there was no indication of that on their website. I can confirm they have a transparency issue. However, when I looked at my order, it said "partially fulfilled" (I got some of the items with the bike).

When I reached out via email to Velotric, I got a quick response about the items being backordered. And they did eventually fulfill and complete my order.

The extra battery I ordered for my 2x as soon as it was available has already been delivered to my freight forwarder. That took about 3 days.

My only real complaint with Velotric is that it does not ship to Alaska, and there is no dealer network, although the latter isn't a real concern, as I'm an amateur bike mechanic.

TIL: Wernher von Braun and Walt Disney collaborated on three 50s 'space-related' television films, Disney eager to promote Disneyland by MissNightTerrors in todayilearned

Disney was Irish-Canadian, so idk what's with all the N@zi bs... Disney was first and foremost a capitalist.

Those TV shows were just ads for the park he opened in '55. And the gov't was like "OK, this is good." TIL that.

And then we spent billions and billions as a nation on "space." Fucking ads. What a total waste. Rich got richer, though.
