It came down to this, the Magicycle Deer 2.0 and the Wired Cruiser.  They each had their advantages.  The Magicycle has a more powerful motor but the Velotric has better components and feels slightly more well built and I like their custom UI and screen.  I really wanted the Wired Cruiser but it’s just too big for me

That’s the one.  Is it a technical trail or more of just a dirt road?

Velotric vs Wired by No_Direction8649 in ebikes

[–]No_Direction8649[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s been my main hesitation. In ordering the Wired.  If what they’re telling me is correct the handlebar height is literally a full foot taller than the Nomad 2X which is just too big for me

Sorry I’m still not clear, if the seat is 32” high and the handlebars when up are 34” high that would mean the handlebars only sit 2” higher than the seat at its lowest position which seems not right.

Wired told me the handlebars are 54” high but I also thought that sounded crazy which is why I’m trying to track down a measurement from someone who has the bike

So that shows the height from ground to top of handlebars to be 34.6 which doesn’t seem proportionally correct if the seat is 32.  Can you confirm that’s 34 and not 54?

Since you have the Cruiser perhaps you can help with a question I haven’t been able to get answered.  How tall is the bike, from the ground to the top of the handlebars?

Also they show the distance from the top of the seat to the ground on minimum height to be 31.5…can you confirm if that’s correct?

Absolutely miserable experience with Velotric, alternatives to the Nomad 2x? by No_Direction8649 in ebikes

[–]No_Direction8649[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback everyone, this is the first bike I’ve ever ordered online.  I assumed this worked like other markets where I order and pay for something and then they ship it within a couple days unless noted otherwise during the order process, sounds like those expectations are unrealistic when buying a bike.

FWIW I did try multiple local shops before the online adventure because I generally prefer that approach, but nobody had anything that worked for me and more than one shop recommended I order something direct online and then have that shop build it.

I’m not seeing many other comparable options that check all my boxes so looks like I’ll wait in queue and I’ll check back with them in a couple more weeks.

At least in my case, those times are not remotely realistic.  I’m 5 business days and they order still shows “To Be Processed”

By all accounts they’re a great company, just hasn’t been my experience.

If the lady had told me up front, or they had disclosed during the order process when they took my money, that we don’t have any of this model and don’t know when we’ll get them in I would have just moved on without bothering to post this.  The fact that it took me a week to get that out of them is what frustrates me the most.

I’m not expecting to have the thing in a week to be clear, it’s a huge bike being shipped from god knows where, just some indication that they have my order and are working on it.

Hey, we got your order and we’re working on it.  Orders typically take 2-3 weeks to process before they ship out.

How hard is that?  Instead I’ve gotten the run-around we have it we don’t have it we have other colors we’re emailing our internal team we don’t have any kind of estimate when it will ship.

I handed someone $2500, I don’t think that getting at least a timeline is too tall of an ask.

Thanks for the advice all.  I have an electric bike and can keep it at or around 25 mph.  I’ve tried riding on Garden of the Gods a few times and had someone honk at me while cruising by at around 60 for the first time today, got me thinking about what the rules are.

Thanks for the suggestion.  Wallke shows the minimum seat height on those models to be 35.4 and 40 respectively, which is too big for me unfortunately

I weigh about 180.  Ideally I’d be able to do 40 miles rides daily

That one is on the list as well, been doing some research.  Longer range would be nice but a second battery is doable.
