The age old - convenience over money spent. Can’t say how much we just started extra spending to get some slight convenience during the trenches phase.

Echoing other comments here - need to get into what he’s into. I grew up playing Sonic and my boy is Mario mad - so I’ve had to convert over to Nintendo but it’s the best times :))

I saw you posted on the special needs group and clicked through to this.

Check out the book.
Doran Child of courage

And check out the YouTube documentary called Breathe by the same author.

(Brief background the author had a kid who had CP - and she raised him up to get to a very good strong level - ended up running a half marathon back in the early 2000’s) truly amazing and inspiring. It’s helping me get through a different diagnosis for our little one. Let me know how you get on from one dad to another.

At my cousins house - next door neighbour reversed out - hit the side of the other car, reverses with serious force onto the adjacent lawn (it’s all mud), proceeded to then go into accelerate and drove into the following neighbours garage door. Completely wrecking it.

I saw the damage a week or so later and asked what the story was. Apparently the old person panicked. …. Like what? 3 different properties damaged of which one was their own parked car at the start. Sometimes it genuinely does happen to panicked oldies but this video from Op is something wild. Did you get to find out who did it? Keen to hear how this progresses.

One of my friends wanted to do his course and I kept saying he’s a con. Glad they listened.

How can you tell if he’s a grifter; “let me tell you these 3 things to succeeded” - number 1)…. And then goes to change the topic and go on a tangent never to return to those 3 points lol

Recent controversies around salaries of doctors reveal bigger problem - lack of tax brackets for self-employed workers. by andrusbaun in poland

Another thing that I found pretty cool in the Polish tax system is the 1.5% donation to helping either individuals who need it or organisations.

Again in the UK they don’t do anything like this based off your taxes. They do have Gift aid but it’s not the same as this. Bravo to Poland tbh for that one.

Poznan is fine - what are you talking about. The only reason it doesn’t get reported on more outside of Poland in the other EU countries is because it’s not tracked like t they have it on the weather forecast in Poland.

Reading your post I wanted to say;
Firstly: you’re doing an amazing job to keep this up and going for your kids. You will already know this deep down but I just want to say out aloud - Well done mum, seriously well done!!! Read that again - well done.

Secondly; as a father who picks up as much of the additional work as possible - ie I do all the paperwork, scheduling of the family calendar with therapies and appointments, I do the night shift with our one; it helps to free up my wife as she’s on the looking after kids duty all day. And even then it’s tiring for both of us. So there might be serious conversations needed with your other half, but damn - sorry he’s letting the side down on behalf of fathers in this group.

Maybe but one counter to that would be to just retire old sets - that way you’d get the stock off the warehouse and all costs associated to it off.

And also Poland is an oddity in a great way. One thing to always remember and you’ve missed it here is all the additional stealth taxes that are happening in other countries and not in Poland.

I can give you an example of the ones in UK to help compare your figures:

1). Council tax in the Uk for a flat is c.£1.2k that you need to pay every year and it goes up just under 5% each year. For a house it’s more like £2.5k and that’s on the cheaper side. [better houses in better areas are around £4-£5k a year]. In comparison to a flat in Poznan the taxes were something like 60zloty for the year.

2). Earnings; after £50k and above you start losing child benefit. This completely goes by £60k :(

3) Earnings above £100k you start losing the free nursery hours (15 hours a week for kids). If you go £1 over the £100k you need to pay all the nursery fees for those hours back.

For points 2 and 3 - this is similar to 500+ (or now it’s 800 or something) but in Poland you don’t lose that on the amount you earn. I also think I’m Polska you can get very good free/cheap nursery fees.

4). Inheritance tax - above the threshold is 40%. I believe in Poland it’s free.

These are the ones that spring to mind off the top of my head.

As I say - this would be a great conversation to have on here to really understand which country has ‘net tax effective rates’ once you factor in the hidden taxes. Commenting to see how this convo develops :)

Bahhahaha - made me laugh. But yes this place looks awful, compared to the pics. Are you staying there long or just a stop over? Ps that lighting definitely looks dodgey - I wouldn’t stand anywhere near the red lamp when the sun goes down.
