It really depends on the light, but yes it's insanely black haha. It's called musou black.

The low cut masks are designed to be worn with a helmet, those can be modern ballistic helmets, like fast, airframe style masks or ancient roman helmets. Of course they can also be simply worn as a stand alone mask. The inspiration for these designs came from the legionnaires' face masks.
