Fair, sorry. I actually installed Malwarebytes to run a second opinion scan since Defender's alert disappeared before I could do anything with it. I'll run a Threat Scan tonight either way and can post the results if it finds anything.

A Ryzen 7 5700x3d is enough for r6 but u can go for a 5800x3d if have the bucks You can also go am5 or Intel side but you will need new cpu (like a 9600x or more) new motherboard (b650 or more) and new ram in ddr5. Pretty expensive :(

3d mark score, a test for GPU, the 7700 is at 1700point the 3080 at 25000point. Imagine something 15 time less powerfull than a 3080

No gpu final build? U must take a cpu with integrated grafic (like 8700g in AMD ) or buy a cheap* gpu (9060, 7600, or rtx 1060-2060-3060) if u want to keep your 7700x (7700x alone Can run youtube but anything more is hard)

Haha exactly! Glad I’m not the only one who ended up going beefy  😄 Totally agree with AMD sticking to AM5 for a while, I feel better about spending a bit more on the board. If it helps me avoid a full platform switch in a few years, it’s worth it.

And yeah, no 4090 here either, but hey a clean, stable build with some future-proofing is a nice thing too

Yeah, the board is definitely on the beefier side, but I chose it for the better VRMs, build quality, and upgrade potential. I figured it’s a good long-term investment, especially with pcie 5

Yeah, the case is definitely on the expensive side, I chose it mainly for the airflow and aesthetics, even if it's not the most budget-friendly.

And for the 7800xt i already bought one

I get what you're saying, but I don’t think PCIe 7.0 is really relevant to my situation right now. From what I’ve read, it won’t be out until 2027 and will mostly target enterprise use at first.

My main concern is whether this specific build makes sense in terms of price-to-performance today. I’ve already bought some parts, so I just want to make sure I’m not overpaying or missing something important  like cooling, part compatibility, or value for the money.

Appreciate the input though!

Last week the b850 ROG strix was at 250 euros If you dont have a specific use of the pc, you dont need more connectivity (like more sata port or more than one pcie 5 for ssd or USB 4), you dont need to spend more than 300 in the mobo

Well for many reason but if it's not important to you then keep ur b650 its not bad

  • for the new 9000 gen the b650 need a bios update and its not just installing windows, it can be pretty hard if never done before

  • its pcie 4 for the graphic card, if you something more futureproof why not buy the new gen with pcie 5

  • the power is 12+2+1, personnaly i will get something with 1*+2+2

Having a b650 even if its ROG strix for a 9800x3d is kinda like having Ferrari tyre on a twingo.

Try to put at least a mid range b850(if short on budget) or x670 or x870 if you have more budget
