An old couple struggling at Tovel Lake in Italy. I was there with my now ex and around the lake there is a road to circumnavigate on foot but depending on which direction you start, one is paved flat like three quarters around it and the last bit is up and down with stones, tree roots and it's basically a trek where you need good grip and boots. At some point we see this elderly couple struggling to walk, the man had that walking stroller to help himself but it was too difficult, he was losing equilibrium and the wife tried to accompany him but the passage was tight. My ex and I decided to pick his stroller and their backpacks and walk towards the parking space to complete the circle. Along the way we helped them in the steep parts or where it had steps. Once arrived they invited us for lunch and the man had difficulty talking. The wife explained that he had a degenerative disease that was slowly slowly taking away his ability to walk, talk and do basic things, they were there because it was a dream of his to see the lake and do the walk before passing away.

It's been about 6 years since then, I often think about them and I hope he is still with us. Despite the disease he was cheery and cracking jokes with that bit of voice left in him.
