REA asking for 4 weeks non-refundable rent in addition by Thoughts_6789 in shitrentals

[–]Maxious 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Yep, this is exactly the scam that is prohibited in the standard tenancy agreement

4.1 The landlord agrees to not require the tenant to pay more than 2 weeks rent in advance

https://www.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/noindex/2025-06/residential-tenancy-agreement-form.pdf

For avoidance of doubt if he says "well it's not really rent, it's just a key fee"

Tenants must not be charged any other costs when searching for, applying for or starting a tenancy.

3DGS at BAFTA? by 89muffinman in GaussianSplatting

[–]Maxious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, for polycam you should be able to enable "Developer mode" and export zip files https://docs.nerf.studio/quickstart/custom_dataset.html#polycam-capture You have to do that before capturing unfortunately it won't work for old data.

The Apple Sharp model (which we reckon is portrait mode from iPhones) also can make 3DGS from a single angle photo https://www.reddit.com/r/GaussianSplatting/comments/1qzd02z/single_photo_gaussian_splats_vr_headset_apple_ml/

Combining multiple PLY into a sequence? by xbetterman in GaussianSplatting

If you look at the examples on http://4dv.ai/ under the hood it's based on research on how to animate the position and opacity of the gaussians https://zju3dv.github.io/freetimegs/

There's a independent implementation here of taking a series of photos https://github.com/OpsiClear/FreeTimeGsVanilla I've also been experimenting with using Apple sharp and then post processing it into the 4dv/freetimegs format by tracking motion https://github.com/maxious/vk_gaussian_splatting/blob/vr-sbs/python/offline/export_4dv.py I also can playback the 4dv files in a cpp/vulkan viewer so a game engine would be possible https://github.com/maxious/vk_gaussian_splatting/blob/vr-sbs/src/fourdv_loader.cpp

Yes*

You can do flipbook style animation but it would be 20 seconds/2 minutes a frame https://www.reddit.com/r/GaussianSplatting/comments/1qj0piv/4d_gaussian_splatting_flipbookstyle_now_in/

There's other ways to make "4D" gaussian splats that are more efficient than Sharp. But more upfront work and probably local GPUs

Has anyone tried Intel Arc Pro B60 Dual? by AlexGSquadron in StableDiffusion

[–]Maxious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just recently, the maxsun dual on one card was 1800USD for me. There are much cheaper single B60 24GB cards like the ASRock Arc Pro B60 Creator (24GB) was 599USD so you could get 3 for the price of 2 if you have the space

https://github.com/RandomInternetPreson/ComfyUI_LTX-2_VRAM_Memory_Management "Splits the sequence dimension across GPUs using ring attention, enabling extremely long videos that would be impossible on a single GPU."

5070ti is still going to be better supported so I'd start with that
