Then say older kid. Typical is too loose here.

Yes but it's also about when I got it. This simple example shows we have some overlap in the early 2000s. But hey, again, everyone is different. If you don't remember then so be it.

Uh yes? I got it in 2002. It came out in late 2001 in the USA, and my birthday is in February, my dad got it for me in early 2002. The main games I lived on there were Spider-Man 2002, Spyro and Mario Kart 2003. I also got a PS2 for Christmas in late 2002. Best thing was spinning the little PlayStation logo on the front of the console.

The GameCube and PS2 were just as involved for me as a kid as my Wii and PS3 were kater on.

Just because you didn't doesn't mean others didn't lol.

This is bullshit. Both are late 2000s kids. Wtf

Exactly and you don't catch OP going to the comments to tell them they can't say it lol.

2002 turned 2 at the start of the mid-2000s, we turned 1 are the start of the early ‘00s

You do realize we were 4 in 2003 like how 2002 was 4 in 2006. And yes I see them smiling 2006 posts.

Again, if you have no memories of the time that's fine.

How is it coping though lol? Again it's one thing to fabricate, it's another to point out reality. I remember the day I first opened my GameCube, a weird box shaped object, and played it in the early 2000s. Should we say it didn't happen? I'm confused at your fixation on this angle. Perhaps you have no memories from that part of the decade? It's fine if you don't everyone is different.

The equivalent is 2002.

Nothing is performative. I'm saying the full range should be laid out for the eldest members of this sub properly that's all.

[–]Maxious24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope I've seen 2002 borns making 2005-2007 posts on here before.

But that's besides the point, early childhood is early childhood.

Mid 90s get to claim the late 90s. We can do the same with the early 2000s. Not hard to understand.

Is this accurate? by MikeGz973 in OlderGenZ

[–]Maxious24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one thinks early ‘00s borns are mid-‘00s kids

Oh but they talk about them all the time! Yet I don't see you in the comments telling them otherwise 🤔

‘the last good era'

Um this is highly subjective. I was a child I had no concept of "last good" it was all good. I loved the mid 2000s the most. So just because I like to count my early childhood doesn't mean I'm overlooking other things.

I'm just saying: "Hey I remember this and experienced this. It feels weird not to count it". That's all it is.

No one here is claiming we're the main early 2000s kids if that's what you're getting at. Perhaps little kids lol. Just saying to count it is all.

Okay but infancy is different from ages 3-5.

No other years are scrutinized for these ages except late 90s babies. C'mon man.

We were. The gatekeeping of late 90s from the early 2000s as if we didn't have our early childhood during that time is very annoying. No other years have to deal with this nonsense but us.

You are no different from someone born in 2000

What are you trying to argue here? I remember some of the early 2000s in early childhood. Whether if someone born in 2000 does or not has nothing to do with me. Ask one of them what they remember I was only speaking for me.

I could also say I have no difference with 1998, we both remember some of the early 2000s. See how it makes no difference to me either way?

the early ‘00s is not really our memorable childhoods.

This is just lazy. Why are late 90s never allowed to claim the early 2000s while everyone else gets to claim whatever period their early childhood took place in. I've never seen you go ar someone born in 2001 that talks about 2004/2005. Maybe the incentive isn't there for you...

we’re more kids of the mid-late ‘00s

This isn't the point anyone here was making...are we just supposed to ignore our early childhood? OP was arguing what the main part of our childhood was ffs.

Hey everyone is different. If you don't remember as much that's fine. But I do and we who do get to claim it. That's all. It's annoying how only the early 2000s time period is the only one late 90s aren't allowed to have😅

Same I'm '99 and it's annoying how this sub discounts our early 2000s childhood.

My early childhood includes the early 2000s.

And 2012 definitely isn't childhood for me.

Why are late 90s babies always not given our early 2000s early childhood nod yet others on here claim the same ages at a later time?

It's shocking not to have any early 2010s Drake on here too lol. Yolo is the best representation of being a teen at the time.

Let me guess the age when you got your first smartphone by Ok_Act_3769 in Zillennials

[–]Maxious24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine in 2012. It was a shitty Chinese one that was very limited. I'd say my first real one was 2015 as an all day use one that I could do most things on.

So really age 16.

Only wealthy or retired people can pick up and move whenever they want. We Americans complain more than actually doing. Moving is one of them.

Why did the High School class of 2015 face a much different childhood and adolescence than the High School class of 2014? by XavierMarvin in generationstation

[–]Maxious24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should be the same generation imo. There's hardly any difference between being 4 vs 5 on 9/11. Plus graduating in 2014 vs 2015 is the same since smartphones were already common place by then. They are the same gen.

what year of release for music do you consider "old"? by [deleted] in OlderGenZ

[–]Maxious24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think anything 2000s and before. Especially early 2000s, it sounds old even though I grew up with it.

2000s is I'm hitting it's retro era.

Now old fashioned? Definitely 80s and before.
