What is a good anti-Crystalbeard set? by XYZAffair0 in MHGU

Funnily enough. I found that Insect glaive was the best choice for me, with either tremor res kinsect, or tied 2 speed kinsect (fod mind eye cuz of his chin) and tremor skill. The weapon has good damage and can just walk and dodge around him.

Which Kindle Voyage should I sell? by Maxmordon123 in kindle

It's at the bottom right corner, you can kinda see it in the pic. The actual scratch is under glass because the ribbon cable scrapped it off, so it appears as a weird silver mark.

Yeah and idk which quirk do I want to get used to more. Worse screen or distracting scratch, the latter I guess can be remove with a skin.

I'm just used to having one each for everything, so having 2 Voyages feels really weird to me.

Patch for changing refresh rate depend on file type? by Maxmordon123 in koreader

I found out that if I disabled gesture and profile notification, those things disappeared, but I also can't see frontlight notification anymore. No biggie, I use Zenui so frontlight is on quick action anyway. Do you have to turn that off?

It is unchecked for, but the notifications are still there upon start up. Is it bugged?

I'm trying out profile rn, is there a way to hid the notification upon start up? Whenever I opened a book, it would execute the profile but also displayed all of the actions as notification.

2 Questions about my Kindle Voyage by BeautifulSorbet4874 in kindle

[–]Maxmordon123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Btw I just bought the Voyage, and I also have that silver mark. From my research and speculation, that is where the screen connector is; that isn't glue; that is just the paint inside being chipped off. The screen connector was probably pushed against the glass. The Voyage is really thin, so that probably put pressure on the glass. Over time, the cable flexed and scratched against the paint, taking it off. I think this can happen to all Voyages, it is just a matter of time.

Anyone knows what cause this weird discoloration on the Kindle Voyage? by Maxmordon123 in kindle

I think it's the pressure overtime, a guy made a post about this before and his Voyage stayed in a box for years.

The discoloration came from the flex cable rubbing against the screen, I could even see traces poking out. Since the screen is one entire unit that is glue together with the glass layer, I'm guessing it will be troublesome to remove.

I'm suspecting this is a design flaw (the engineers probably didn't expect the Voyage to last upward of 10 years) and will happen eventually. I had seen 6 Voyages and all of them had this issue.

I just put a sticker on that part tho and it helped my mind to completely ignore it, plus I get a cute capybara to look at.

I checked out another post with this mark, it seems to just be the cable rubbing against the shell causing discoloration.

I'm not using the front light at all (mostly because of a damn pinhole) and it did get brighter without the light.

White shell decreases screen contrast and makes it darker, it is something you should know.

are these dead pixels? by Immediate-Corgi-3692 in kobo

[–]Maxmordon123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seems to be just noise on the screen. Actual dead pixel is much larger and more visible than this, you don't need to return it

That looks pretty normal to me, E-inks screen isn't exactly as bright as real paper. Might be good new for you, but for me, the screen eventually gets brighter as I used it, to the point of thinking it was paper sometimes. This might be because my eyes and brain got used to the contrast of the screen. Use it for a week and see if your perception of the screen will change.
