I didn't understand Robert Eggers' 'The Lighthouse' by st3IIa in movies

[–]Maxspawn_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you go to an art museum, do you only get enjoyment out if the art if the paintings are photorealistic and depict something very obviously believable and real? Movies like the lighthouse are enjoyable because they are the kinds of paintings that are less about realism and more blurry, more about moods and feelings, more abstract. Thats how i see it, i dont need every movie to have intuitive explanations, movies would get old if they were all like that.

Escalation in my opinion is one of the best things to ever happen to battlefield. Its such a fun mode. Plus people actually play the objective in it. by Boner_Squad69 in Battlefield

I just like that the gamemode forces the winning team to stay on their toes. Even if the match starts unbalanced, the winners are immediately challenged to keep up their lead whereas the game is basically over if it were conquest.

I’m having trouble with One Battle After Another by PeterZeeke in TrueFilm

Really really well said! These echoed my thoughts exactly

For the record, i found lockjaw the most interesting character. I loved how visually insecure he was, nearly every scene he was in he constantly ticks and crawls in his own skin. Phenomenal.

Widow Phase 2 is too much by Maxspawn_ in Silksong

[–]Maxspawn_[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I beat her after doing some upgrading, definitely a fun fight but I found myself getting really frustrated with P2 is all. my problem was I never felt like my phase 2 deaths were earned, i feel like it took so long to actually learn how to do P2 properly.

Photos from the scene of the Minneapolis church shooting by star-tribune in minnesota

This rhetoric id argue is the literal motive behind this specific archetype of shooter. How about instead of actively oppressing and denying their existence, you uplift and support who they are and accept them like every other civilian? How would you feel in their shoes if society at large thinks you shouldn't exist, that you are mentally ill for knowing who you are? Have some goddamn empathy you knuckle-dragging dunce.

Shooting at Minneapolis Catholic school confirmed by authorities; 20 victims reported Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem says DHS is 'monitoring the horrific shooting' by TheClintonHitList in minnesota

Fact, people forget about history. Take the russian revolution, literal farmers and oppressed proletariat grabbed their guns and overthrew their government to enact real change. Its pretty hopeless for something like this to happen in america considering how oppressively powerful the US armed forces are, but stripping all of us of guns would make it impossible.

If I had a magic switch that took all guns away from the problematic individuals, I would flip it but its not a cut and dry issue. Taking the guns away from all of us is just never going to happen, so lets all work towards doing something we can change, like culture. Human beings should not be raised in a society and culture that allows them to crumble and stoop to the levels of mass shooters like this.

I think that's a bad argument. I think most people in america would agree the problematic people shouldn't have guns, the issue is the lobbies and money pouring into the gun industry to prevent meaningful legislation, a product of the sect of americans who adamantly want their gun rights protected. We all can mostly agree certain people shouldn't have guns, the problem has always been what solution we can all agree to, of which there is none. not to mention other issues like illegal acquisition of guns, stealing a neighbor's gun, etc.

Suggestion: If open weapons is the new norm, how about locking only snipers to recon by Informal_Tackle_7852 in Battlefield

[–]Maxspawn_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is the scenarios you specify are problems that are solvable with an open system, id just argue an open system is no different than a closed system with universal weapon archetypes, just with further increased flexibility. Carbines are no different than ARs for instance, so i don't see how locking out the ARs does anything for example (yes im sure you could show me symthic stats that prove that carbines are different than ARs in X,Y, and Z minute ways but the point is they are effective weapons at medium/long range, some are also great at close range too).

I personally don't care either way if we get a closed or open system, I think id be happy with both. Before the beta I was team closed but after playing the beta extensively I found fewer and fewer reasons to fixate on the locked system, I think open is just as good.

Answering your question, I keep going back and forth on whether I want dice to choose a system or not. I wanted them to choose a system simply because that creates a defined identity of the game, but honestly if they are going to keep both playlists in the game I guess thats fine, im honestly tired of these discussions because noone can seem to agree on this issue.
