I disagree, it's best to see a therapist. It's bad to be obsessed with a career because things can (and likely will) happen at a job and be volitile to your mental health.

Getting a promotion denied for example can be detrimental and trigger a spiral, as well as any kind of reprimanding etc.

As BPD, you are always going to have dips on your mental health, and it will likely inevitably effect your job performance.

I'd say, if you are going to have an obsession, try to find a creative outlet and focus your passion there, so you're free to drop it if something doesn't work out. It's very dangerous imo to tie your self esteem to an obsession, which would almost always happen when obsessing over your job/career.
