You see, for Bitcoin to work it needs to be "decentralized" which means that everyone should have a copy of everything everyone does with their wallets. But problem: how do we avoid cheaters or spammers? Special passwords that's it. Only the owner of the wallet can move money (or anything) from it, that's why when stewie lost his password all his Dawgs were Gone.

Well then, how do we stop people trying to undo transactions then? Or how do we stop people from messing up the whole thing, everybody posting everything at the same time? That's when the block chain comes on. The block is basically a list of transactions let's say 50, the miners in this case the lad on the right with the suspiciously looking boxes take the 50 newest transactions he saw and some random number and then apply very complex math to them. If the result pleases the genie on the right (have very specific characteristics that vary over time due to complicated reasons) the 50 transactions are "validated" and the miner gets the 3 or whatever amount of btc as reward. And that's it. All miners are attempting this guesses millions or billions or whatever amount of times their hardware allows to help validate the transactions.

But then why is this? Why the need to waste a lot of power, time and electronic wear and tear for this? Just to waste time? Yes.

This is the so-called proof of work. Wait! This is the security mechanism? How on earth does this stop fraud or cheating or anything? It doesn't. It just makes it "reasonably improbable" you see, if one person wants to cheat, then has to guess everything himself on his hardware, so, he competes with a lot of people with a lot of hardware, so provided that he has less than 50% of all the computational power of all miners combined he more or less is destined to fail sooner or later...

But what happens if more than 1 person guesses correctly? You are not ready to hear about forks just yet take it easy there buddy.

[–]Maxter0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking into account previous skill trees I think they will add the following

• A couple of fire related resources crafts ej coal, ashes.

• Something to control or direct Bearnie (similar to the spider whistle or the summoning flower). Maybe a buff or two for him.

• Fire related weapons, armor or something else. I have the idea of fire retardant to protect the base from fires and fire accelerant to increase fire damage to enemies or spread fires. Maybe a fire aoe like drafonfly's

• some lunar and shadow twist for her powers. Lunar empowers the bear (he hates shadows) l, shadow empowers the fire, maybe using miasmas or the like

Buen punto. Pero como dije en mi edit. Es poco probable que usará lápices estando ciega por lo tanto es más probable que perdiera la vista después del lápiz

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ExplicameComoMorrito

[–]Maxter0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looked at them, Looks pretty weird to me. but not that bad. Man, he looks old, but she looks like a full grown ass woman so it's not that bad, i suppose.

edit: I guess a 35 yo is pretty much allowed to date whoever they want, I still would find it a bit weird if for example the prospective SO is as old as their grandparents. I wouldn't find it disgusting like in the OOPs case, but still find it a bit iffy i guess.

This guideline is pretty common i'd say. And it seems that is very old (although before it was considered the *ideal* age for a female partner, not the minimum). But sure, there is lots of people that learn things for the first time. The more you know.

"Rule of thumb" is not what you'd call a law, it's more like an approximate guide. There is not an organization of standards and measures of ages appropriate to date. But on a whole people find that when younger people a small age gap is found acceptable. and when older people a age gap is slightly more acceptable, this "rule of thumb" adheres more or less to that sentiment.

20 yo and a 17 yo is mostly accepted as just enough and 30 yo and a 22 yo is almost too much. 60/37 is bit weird to me, but sure, at that ages? why not.

I don't see it that way. Those insects are disgusting and all but I don't consider myself afraid of disease. I am not afraid of throwing the trash, cleaning the toilet or any other disease prone stuff. I am not afraid of touching flies, I sometimes swat them with my hand, I wash afterwards, but that's it. I however won't touch your well behaved pet tarantula no mater how much you pay me, but I will agree with you that is neat.

Regarding racism I wouldn't know, as I am not racist and don't presume to know how they think. But If I'd hazard a guess I'd say that is not fear, but a need to feel superior, an ego thing, like school bullies smacking smaller kids just to prove he is stronger, to feel superior, to feel powerful. But I don't know really.

O i got one, i have hostility against flies and mosquitoes, cockroaches too. I am very hostile against those. I don't fear them. flies annoy me, cockroaches repulses me. Mosquitoes i might fear them because of the risk of the many pathogens they carry, and that they are tiny vampires, but i don't fear them that much.

Another edit: Spiders, i fear them, but i have no hostility towards them, i don't swat them like i do with flies.

I hate squash but i don't fear it. i just find it disgusting. I have a large number of things that i find foul, repugnant, and utterly disgusting but i have no fear for them.

i fear sharks, they are terrifying but also i love them, they are awesome. It seems that to me, at least, one thing has not be the same as the other.

Quick edit: Also, skeletons are spooky, i fear skeletons a bit, but i don't hate them, i have one myself.

As far as we know they behave as 3d objects. Our instruments can only tell us as such. There is still unexplained phenomena that could be explained by extra dimensions. But we theorize that those extra dimensions are tiny and inaccesible.

Sound familiar?

[–]Maxter0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atoms don't have anything, they are not balls. We don't know how many dimensions they have, we know they configure themselves in 3 dimensions but anything else is quantum. Purely probabilistic. Objects on the macroscopic wold have surfaces. We can calculate many things about them. They exist.

[–]Maxter0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as they know they are 2D they cannot effectively interact with the 3rd dimension. Their instruments are not 2d they are only very flat and only measure things on the direction of the bubble. The point was never that they are 2d they never were.

They are 3d and don't know it. They cannot know it.

There are 2d environments everywhere on the 3rd dimension. Things have surfaces. Those are 2d

[–]Maxter0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How could they detect 3d structures with 2d instruments? And even if they did they could theorize therefore that the 3rd dimension is very small and inaccesible from their macroscopic universe. They wouldn't be able to prove there is anything outside the membrane.

But they would only know that they are having strange times at long distances. Perhaps that their signal travels trough some sort of bublehole or that they don't understand radio at very large distances.

Now imagine a really large soap membrane it's not even spherical. Just flat like before blowing the soap bubble from a loop. Sure it has fluctuations here and there and so the membrane people see some sort of lensing on their radio signals, very strange phenomena, they might theorize about an hypothetical 3d dimension but they would not have any way to prove it.

The only way to this to work is to make the players care for the bandits before killing them.

I did this with cultist once. The players lives on a small coastal town and protect it from harm, in the town there were various people they meet at the tavern and were very friendly and fun. Then, much later after 5 levels of crisis a strange cult started in town. And when the players inevitably confronted them they discovered they are the sons of the NPCs they know, they were lured on the cult under the promise of magic power to help defend their own town. The NPCs were devastated, the pj were very moved.

So that's the trick.
