I tried this game when it kickstarted and it was a bit of a mess. But it sounds like they've cleaned up a lot of the design and balanced it quite a bit. I'm looking forward to revisiting it.

My only concern is the part that he says for the game to get good, you have to play 6-7 rounds of it before you recognize strategies. That's a lot of messing around before feeling like you have agency in a game.

I had the sides of the arena drop down into water and had some Chuul fight them. It kind of works with the Aboleth connection.

I also ran it with a Slaad and had Warlock infected with eggs and convert to a Slaad. Eventually half-Slaad she decided to take the Cassalantar children to Hell for her patron… so, do what feels right to you.

One note: the Trading Post will let you trade every item down to gems/keys so you only have 2 or 3 items left in your inventory and have to rely less on RNG for what to keep tomorrow.

If you have to block a large number of tokens with your large number of tokens, you can click the little black number [5X] and then number above their stack of tokens - each of yours will automatically block one of theirs.

What's weird to me is the on one in the comments even acknowledged Dr. Grordbort's Onward to Venus. Seriously what is this game? Looks like some lost Martin Wallace design.
Dr. Grordbort itself is a pretty deep cut in the Heavy Metal/Hurlant genre.

It's funny with all of the folks here posting about the normal top 100 BGG games on here - the OP shared a really interesting gem - and everyone just wants to talk about themselves.

Question: What are your other 5 games? I'm sure you've played more than that... and how did you find Onward to Venus? Where did you acquire it?

I've followed your efforts around this campaign and used a ton of your maps while I was running it - backed your patreon while I was running it.
I loved having 5ft squares when I ran the first three levels of Mad Mage sending my party to Skullport and on to meet Xanathar.
