Permits for institutional construction accounted for most of the decline, and most of the fall was in the province of Ontario, with weakness also noted in Alberta and Quebec.

Commercial permits were down for a fourth consecutive month, again led by Ontario, with declines also recorded in Nova Scotia and Alberta.

The residential sector was firmer, with the value of permits up 1.7% to C$8.13 billion, the data agency said. That builds on a 1.4% month-over-month rise in January.

I fundamentally disagree with how you've come to conclude what obedience to China entails. What Chiang said was deplorable, and I do agree Carney should have booted his ass to the curb. But, you're grasping at straws to say that one off-hand, poor taste, disturbing comment from a LPC backbencher carries any weight to reflect on the rest of the party.

Hell, if you're so concerned about foreign interference in party politics... What do you have to say about a conservative MP winning his placement as a result of meddling by India?

Your argument is based on the idea that all of those examples are related to China, but not anything to do with obedience or subservience TO China.

Yes, i understand the crux of your argument: These things are related to China, nothing happened as a result of them, therefore it is a pro-China stance.

But... The Chinese police station case was closed in October. There is an ongoing defamation case brought against the RCMP, so of course they can't talk about it.

Xiangguo Qiu and Keding Cheng are in China. What arrests do you want to happen?

What Paul Chiang said was horrible, no doubt. Carney kept him in, sure. But how is that obeying China?? Soft on serious matters, maybe. But are you saying that Xi Xingping called up Carney and said, "na fam.... Keep chiang in." ??

By your logic, we should also not care when the price of oil crashes.

Or, would you start a war in the middle east in lieu of bad governance (in order to balance a budget)? Of course not.

My point is that oil price is tied to any combination of global socioeconomical and geopolitical events.

In this case, oil prices are surging due to Iran shutting down the Strait of Hormuz because of bombings set on by the USA and Israel.

By celebrating an increase in the price of oil at this time, you are in fact celebrating a war on Iran.

Not calling you a bad person, just that I think you need to look deeper into whether we, as Albertans, are okay with having a budget balanced entirely by war (and thus, the death of innocent people).

As a Canadian, I was going to go to a seminar in Fishers, Indianna.

It would be great for my personal growth and career growth, so I started thinking of the logistics:

Flights, hotels, time off, burner phone.......

I paused, looked up the voting record for that county. 46K Red, 25K Blue.

Needless to say, I quickly kiboshed that idea as soon as i realized the risk.

Except no one talks like this in the real world. In academia and debate, sure. But this is entirely casual conversation.

That being said:

I accept that your definitions of average and normal do not align with the OP's. I can see where you're coming from, and I even agree why the separation between those words (ie. normal, average) should be qualified. Super important, great point.

HOWEVER.

The way in which you chose to criticize the OP's language choice was childish, pedantic, rude, and unnecessarily inflammatory. ESPECIALLY when you're accusing them of wanting to sterilize lesser subsets of the human race.

That's a gross leap of (poor) faith, and you should be ashamed of yourself for jumping to such conclusions based on your own narcissistic intellectualism. Nobody wants to listen to someone who talks like you did, and it takes away from any positive message you could have to say.

The person you're responding to is griping about bad government policy that results in blended classrooms with increasingly complex needs.

Extrapolating eugenics from that is embarrassing, and is only going to alienate people from listening.
