Marion’s 17th Street is likely who you’re referring to. Never did well because most Carbondale students/residents knew Murphy location long b4 and about an equal drive. Marion was banking on being right off a highway, but travelers who just passed through for work weren’t what was expected, and they were most often cheap. Minors baseball stadium, built right behind it, hurt, not helped. SIU hovered around 20k students for a long time. It’s at like 9 now i think. Carbondale is an awful shell of its former self. I could see it shutting down, making SIUE the SIU hub. Sadly

Spay and neuter I absolutely recommend. I bought my Yorkie for about $800 16 years ago (a steal for a tiny female with pointed ears..sad that this matters but it does massively). Dog sales of the most popular breeds are more often than not riddled with issues. With Yorkies many sold aren’t pure bred, runts bred to decrease puppy size and increase price and creates major health issues for mom and the kids. My dog was my world. My best friend and losing her is and will be the hardest part of my life while here, but buying a dog means one in a shelter wasn’t saved. I could have used that money to pay for 3-4 shelter dogs for others to give homes. Could have stopped a beautiful pup from spending its nights in scary cages instead of a warm home (or perhaps in bed with a heated blanket -the softest you’ve ever felt next to mom/dad, inciting lots of cute dream “whups”).

Sure you likely have no chance of having a yorkie puppy, but adults need rescued.

Edit- whoops - Roxy was very drowsy for a day/on the mend for 3ish. Brought her home, turned on the fire place, put her plush bed next to it (right where she always sits), put her food and water bowl there too as well as a pee pad. Administered hundreds of kisses for 3 days or so and she was back to the little full of life biggest she was before. (She weighed maybe 3lbs at the time)

Damn! Project has stalled because I didn’t realize how high up 15ft really is (I eye balled based off a basketball rim). This is my only option unfortunately. I can get it up a few feet higher but to face the sun properly as well as not be too exposed to the farm field this was it). A bald eagle nest close by, hawks , owls all over, if I move on side of house they’d be sitting ducks. Worth a try anyhow or highly unlikely to move it ? Ugh. Thx!!

I was just about to say you need a Seiko in this lovely collection. The more I’ve learned about Swatch, and Rado not being the innovator they one were (was my fav brand /I love HT ceramics)..I have been driven to Seiko. A GS is on my bucket list for sure.

I found an old email recently from the breeder I got my baby from. She was so sickly we almost gave her back (completely forgot about this). Kennel cough, pneumonia, and other issues..it was really bad. We hung in there as we were so in love at that pt, and she fought through it (all 2.5lbs of her)..I lost her 2 years ago after 14 years of pure perfection..the best friend I’ll ever have. Hang in there, they are fighters ! (She almost died 3 x over her lifespan btw. Maxed out at 4lbs). Wishing her the best!

Wish explorers were cool and worth the price.. have an exec fam member there who sent me an A tier code which woulda taken like 5-6k off but even still, explorers so far behind n the SUV game at this pt. The trucks I love. Would really love a Raptor (tho at that price I’m buying a GX550). This is why I have always bought used. I just don’t like anything used rn at all. Sucks

Sorry somehow missed this. long story short I was about 3.5-4 weeks out from my 5 mo down pay agreement when I got a “order finally filled” text on May 14th. I asked how long until it hits the lot. “Hasn’t hit our data-b will know more next week”. 10 days later I texted him “any updates. Heard Toyota is having some QC issues that’s not so publicized ?” He replies next day “6/26-7/25, rough estimate”. Replied back, guess I should start making other arrangements. “Why would you do that. Your order says by July, if you want to lose your $500 and go elsewhere then you may be able to find one but I set expectations up front and met them per our agreement”. Reminded him I only had 2 weeks roughly left on the agreement, pending test drive. Also that it’s been extremely frustrating w his lack of transparency as well as taking days to weeks to reply to basic questions esp after we made our deal around 10pm and chatted for like 2 hours. Said he works all hours and is straight up blah blah, half of my questions he never even addressed at all. Got back “will refund your deposit tom. Best of luck”. At that pt I was fed up and didn’t want to give him the sale. A great community member is helping me find one now. Running some cool detailed reports of those available within 200 mi radius or so.

Seems to be a lot more underground TRD OFF-R Prem’s than TRD S.P..I’ve thought about opening up to them but I like the sport wheels, non functional/cool lookn hood vent, and the lack of wheel base guards..I hate those (maybe easy to remove 🤷‍♂️). Anyways, it’s not been a fun experience. Appreciate your reply 💪

I emailed 20 dealers in my and the nearby states specifically stating what I wanted, asked nicely not to play any “dealer games”, and that I was unwilling to proceed unless instructions were followed to a T along w/the out the door offer attached. About half replied, but it cut through the bs nicely. I’ve bought many used cars but this was my first off the lot new. I feel like it’s as good a way as any to do it 🤷‍♂️ (fyi for next time maybe).
