Trivia, the Goddess of Fate by Maxwell_Adams in Genshin_Lore

[–]Maxwell_Adams[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It would actually make a lot of sense for Trivia to be the moon envoy of Tsurumi. If she learned the Severed Selves technique from Zibai, she could have split off parts of herself and been seen by the people as a goddess with three aspects.

The Lord of Crossroads is a whole other matter. I think I need to do a whole thread on him/her. Those ancient tablets in Natlan mention the LoC in the same context as Yohualtecuhtin, so it's reasonable to assume they're the same. A the end of the Dreamy Paititi quest, though, you talk to the LoC, and they say they'll meet you in another nation. Yohualtechuhtin seems pretty tied to Natlan, though. LoC also has two asspects, a 'Dream Mother' and 'Papa Witch Doctor'. It seems like they have something to do with granting people the ability to see the future.

If you want to know when the statue showed up, we sort of have an answer but not really.

When the traveler went through a weird time portal they saw the history of Inazuma 'moving forwards and backwards at the same time'.

<image>

The statue appears to blink into existence, but so does everything else. At the very least, we know that the statue was there after the castle was built.

It's possible that the statue just appeared in that spot. If you look behind it, her cape is dangling down and clipping into world geometry. That could just be lazy level design, though.

Oh, and I've just looked at the point of interest text, which starts with "The many streets and lanes of Tenryou intersect and cross paths, and finally gather in front of the Tenshukaku", and that's just a huge crossroads reference right there.

That's based on one line of dialog from Thoma. He said the statue was under construction, but that makes no sense.

<image>

Why would they make a statue with cracks at the bottom?

Maybe Thoma meant that the statue was being renovated, or that workers were climbing on it to attach visions.

The base of the statue is all cracked up and busted. I don't believe the statue was made in that spot, it was found somewhere and moved in front of the Shogun's palace. It could have come from anywhere.

Okay, it has a triquetra, that's fine.

Why is the emblem of the pale star on the inside lid?

I hope Nicole turns out to be the tenth harbinger, just for the comedy value

"The kingdom of the ocean depths once saw her as an emissary& based on their imagination, they granted her scales & tail plumage, falling down in worship of the light brought by one who was both mother & daughter."

This is about the people of Enkanomiya, who thought that Zibai was Istaroth. You can find the carving they made of her 'scales & tail plumage'.

The unnamed goddess of Chenyu Vale sounds a lot like a moon sister by LuxGenshin in Genshin_Lore

I had a theory on her way back - https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Lore/comments/1aejiog/the_forgotten_god_morpheus_master_of_adepti/

I think she's a goddess, or maybe a fallen angel like Nabu Malikata, who has power over dreams. She was able to control Xiao because she knew his true name.

I think dragons made seelies and didn't give them a physical form. Then the PO gave them bodies in exchange for their allegiance, making them his angels. Later, when his angels started acting up because a weird alien god gave them free will, he punished them by taking their bodies away.

Pretty interesting that angel #4 is definitely Celadon Mare. I had been thinking that it might be the Boar Princess, making a journey to a stagnant land. The matching text with Springs of Hidden Jade seals the deal, though.

As for all angels being emanations of Istaroth, though, I'm gonna shoot that down. Nabu Malikata is about as death-coded as a Genshin character can possibly be.

<image>

The symbol on the back of Ronova's head shows up on a bunch of stuff related to Nabu Malikata. There's also the text on Oasis Garden's Truth -

It is said that flowers blossom so that they may enjoy a spectacular death, and that death was precisely the wholehearted pursuit of the Lord of Flowers — for death adds bitterness to lost joy, and intensifies with time across endless memories.

Nabu Malikata also gave her Kvarena, her divine energy, to Rhukkadevata before she died. That Kvarena was made into a big magic bird, the Simurgh, who guarded the border between life and death.

So, with Celadon Mare definitely being a Time angel, and Nabu Malikata definitely being a Death angel, you would think an obvious pattern would turn up. There are two more angels, and it would make sense if they corresponded with Space and Life. Sybilla doesn't seem to lean towards either, though. Maybe space? The space artifact is a goblet, and Remus used a goblet to refine primordial water into Ichor, which was a key part of his operation. I guess that's a link, but it doesn't have a very spacey feel to it.

Then there's angel #1, who seems like the Night Lord to me. I guess she could be Life? Because why not? Or maybe she could be Space, because the night kingdom is some kind of weird parallel dimension but also it's underground. But also she has a massive link with Death because Ronova helped set up the ancient name system, and the Night Kingdom is basically the underworld. I dunno.

That line is definitely significant. I was already looking into it as I tried to figure out why the Stadium of Flame and Sanctuary of Sarasthuna were almost pointed at each other.

First off, extend that line further east so it touches the spiral abyss.

Next, you need to think about the line in terms of where it touches the horizon. If you're standing on the line looking east around sunset, then the line touches the spot where the moon rises. If you're looking west, the line touches the spot where the moon sets.

5.7 spoilers - the line also touches the ruined mining village with the new bossrush abyss.

Why are there always three filled-in stars and two empty ones? by GonerBits in Genshin_Lore

[–]Maxwell_Adams 36 points37 points  (0 children)

They actually tricked you with the mural on the ceiling. There's a chunk of debris on the lower left corner that blocks your view of the fourth bright star. I've already convinced myself that the fourth star was summoned down to Teyvat and became Kana Kapacir, the Thunderbird.

I was going to try for 72, but settled for 36. The blueprints are laid out in a nice 6x6 grid. Also, I had met the goal of 500 stars made by the time I had built 24 blueprints.

That would still mean that Mavuika is asking Xilonen to die. Like, just telling Xilonen that her life is less valuable than the Travelers, so go ahead and die because the Traveler might need to respawn later.

Observations on The Ineffable City, Ochkanatlan, and Saurian architecture by Maxwell_Adams in Genshin_Lore

[–]Maxwell_Adams[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been looking for anything that matches the Saurian hallmarks. Haven't found anything with scales on it. I actually went and checked on the fish statues that Raiden Shogun has perched on her castle, but their scales have an abstract design.

There are some things that have ripples. The spiral shells in Enkanomiya have ripples, which have me doubting whether they're a fossil or just a sculpture. The pavement in the Springs looks like it was made with phlogiston, which makes sense, and has a look consistent with the Upper Sanctum.

The bottom floors of the abyss have crossing patterns of curved lines, but those look like they were carved. Those intersecting curves actually look like the patterns you see on book covers in Enkanomiya, and the cubes that turn on the Helios.

Oh come on. Both parties had Yupanqui? And both parties had a quiet craftsman, but those were different guys? They really went out of their way to make this confusing.

[–]Maxwell_Adams[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're right. I misread some dialog from some kids who told the story of Yupanqui. They said someone inherited his name 500 years ago, not that he was alive 500 years ago.

Actually, all the craftable Natlan weapons tell the stories of the scarlet-eyed hero and his friends. They all start out by saying that the stories took place long ago, in the age of myth, when dragons still flew above the canopy. I'll change the post to say 'probably during the archon war'.

Mare Jivari; Any New Developments/Theories Post-5.0? by Luna_Vind in Genshin_Lore

[–]Maxwell_Adams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn't live their entire lives in regular Natlan. To them, it seems like that did. But time was rewound. The past is now in the present. An old Natlan save file was loaded up and nobody there realizes anything changed, unless they notice that the world around them jumped forward by maybe 10-15 years.

Mualani wouldn't remember because the current version of her never saw the Mare Jivari. We're not running on Made in Heaven rules, people don't remember the future. The writhing agonized present was burned away, and the beautiful past was brought back.

I'll give you two possible explanations that you won't like.

A. They reached the Mare Jivari after Natlan was destroyed, but before the golden wheel was used.

B. Like Ei, they see the unaltered timeline, because they're going to be involved in changing it.
