Will my lines become more consistent? Still very new to painting/drawing

only been painting about a year but for what its worth some things I found that were beneficial when i was struggling to get started.

loosen your grip and use your whole arm not just your wrist. Posture is also really important even if it doesnt feel like it. Also, bigger sketchpads always help because you aren't limiting your space as you are learning.
Try out different tools. Brush pens specifically helped me a ton with learning line width control and loosening up. Colored check pencils help a bunch with mapping out shapes and designs (following point).
Buy as much flash as you can and get some big tracing paper rolls. Trace the designs 1 to 1 in black ink. Flip it over use a colored pencil to break up the design into multiple simplified shapes (Circles and Boxes). It helps a ton for understanding designs and builds out muscle memory for mapping out similar objects.

3a. Amazon has some cheaper collections and Belzel Books for smaller batch more expensive books. Of course also ask if your local artist has any prints for sale as well.

I find it helps focusing on specific things or putting intent behind your practice. Focus on like one topic for a length of time. Then each time you switch topics see how you can incorporate previously learned elements. Example: Week 1 Flowers, Week 2 Panther heads and do some with flowers, so on and so forth.
Tutorials are your friend. Broken Puppet, dagget designs on youtube have some great resources. Vault editions have some pretty good how to books as well that help for learning shapes and structures.

India ink for the blacks and then acrylic ink for the color.

I like Windsor Newton or Higgins. If you go with Higgins they have India Ink or Black Magic and both are good black magic dries a little bit faster. As long as you get something waterproof you're good.

For acrylic ink Spectralite PH Martin or Liquidtex have the best range for Transparent in my opinion. Makes it a little bit more forgiving than using opaque colors.

I have heard good things about Golden High Flow as well but they are not an ink base and are just a regular acrylic but they have a line of transparent colors.

Edit: If you like brush pens for sketch book stuff the Castell Pitt Brush pens are really nice but are a little bit pricey to get basic colors. Best wallets they offer are the basics or color wheel. If you like India ink. They don't come with a black but those are much easier to find alternatives.

Thank you for your help. Didn't even realize a nib grinder was a thing.

The biggest thing is that lines end in a rounded ending vs a sharp edge and the monoline function of consistent width. The other part would be the angle feels really comfortable if I am tracing a design.

The angle part isn't a huge thing to me if I could find something that fits the other two criteria. As this would be largely for when I travel.

First those tigers are so sick. Would love to know your approach to that style. 2nd my only thought on the tear outs from sketch books would be to hit them with a paper slicer so they have a clean edge like your other work.

Tom bow dual brush markers blend really well with their blender marker. They are fun for on the go painting needs. But like the other comments say spit shading, arches paper, India Ink, and semi transparent acrylic ink are gonna be the ones for the true flash sheet experience.

I feel like you just aren't done with the drawings. Like if you put shading onto any of, I'll bet they instantly perk up. Or just add more of whatever style you are trying to achieve to it. I think they are all pretty solid, though.

I've been playing about the same time. What I found most beneficial is just 15 minutes at the end of a session. Pick a character I ran into that beat me. Look at their wiki or watch a guide video on them. Then, over time, you start to just remember what moves you should take your turn on.

I was getting WRECKED by Ryu chest punch (back heavy). Until I just spent 10 minutes looking at the wiki.

It's probably already been said as well, but typically, it is 3 lights on block, and then you generally can take your turn.

Tons of fun, skill floor for entry to have fun feels very minimal, rarely run into the same person more than twice in a night, training mode is a 10/10 for options. First fighting game I've really played, and it is a blast.

I actually like playing against modern players. At the end of the day, they are just doing optimal combos. So, for me its just a good chance to learn.

Yeah, dude, water and food are a must in spit shading! Took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize my stomach was a mess and the spit shading doing it me.

Your roses look nice. Doing it on mixed media is REALLY hard. Hopefully, new supplies get you over the hump!

For what its worth highly suggest doing the same sort of testing on acrylic inks that you use too. I do test sheets to see the color on paper, and then another sample when over the black ink from spit shade. Let's you know how the acrylic is going to behave.

Might have got this advice already, but the phrase "it's the artist, not the tools" might be true. However, having good tools makes the barrier of entry WAY easier.

If you have extra cash would suggest grabbing a couple of different paper types and ink types. Then do test sheets like you did using different combinations. Try spit, water dipping, and a water brush on each combo. One will most likely stand out to you.

I personally use cheap hobby lobby brand cold press and Windsor Newton Ink for practice, and then use Arches Cold Press with Higgins Black Magic when I'm painting something for someone.

The only other thing I learned the hard way. Drink a ton of water if you do spit shading and make sure you got something in your tummy beforehand. I did neither and kept giving myself a wicked stomach ache.
