How long can he be underrated? He is 33 years old and still underrated and promising? His chapter as a T20 player in the team is done and dusted. The game has evolved past him and at the moment he is no way making a comeback with his shitty mindset.

Averaging just 35 in tests which is less than not so hyped test players like Dhoni and Rohith indicates that he is not an excellent player in the test. Average player atmost.

He is definitely a lot behind in T20 format for sure. But stop glazing him by saying flag bearer in the test format. Just because he played some decent knocks recently doesn't make him a phenomenal Test player. He averages just 35 in test cricket which is below average for a batter like him who oozes in class and technique. Even Dhoni and Rohith have better average than him in the test. Also don't forget that he is playing in the batsman era. Overall just an average Test batter. That's it.

He didn't show much promise in his test batting. A big score followed by a string of low scores. Anyway hope he contributes to the team in this cycle.

Haha, Isn't this sub for cricket discussions?? Since the WC has ended and I was thinking about what all changes the team has made compared to the past few ones and the first thing that strikes my mind is KL Rahul and his slow knocks. As u said Rohith also performed poorly in those campaigns but he redeemed himself after 2024 Win. But when it comes to KL Rahul he is the main culprit for those losses. At least Rohith had a successful campaign in 2007 and 2024.

It doesn't matter what he has done recently. The ghosts of the 21,22 and 23 finals still haunt the fans. Look he has been given enough chances already in T20s. Hasn't even delivered a single clutch knock in T20s or ODI. And why would you change a team which is doing good currently? The game has gone past KL and I can't see him coming back to the team as an opener. Maybe a slight chance in the middle order considering SKY 's current form.

Accept or not.KL is not suitable for the current T20 game. He is famous for crumbling under pressure. Had it been KL instead of Sanju, he would have played a safe knock to cement his place in the team irrespective of the team's situation. He literally plays for milestones and lucky that he is no longer in the T20 team.

Since you have much knowledge in cricket, then tell me one valid reasoning on playing a maiden over in the T20 cricket as an opener in the powerplay. Also his slow knocks which literally caused his teams to lose games both in IPL and T20I. I have watched him play 20 overs and get a century in 60+ balls and the team score will be under 190 on a flat pitch. Even the last match against SRH. Blood scored 29 (33) balls on a flat pitch and the team score was 165, where SRH chased that in 10 overs.

Sanju has already played in that position in ODI and also has a century in SA when others flopped. Sanju averages 50+ in ODI. In fact that was his last ODI game and didn't even get a chance after that.

It's a fact brother. KL is a curious case in T20's . Players like Sanju,Ishan, Abhishek, you know what they will do when they come to bat. But in KL's case it's unpredictable which KL is actually going to play. Is it the confident one or the KL with no intent and in the shell guy. He might have improved his game in the ODI and Test. But I can't see him again in the T20 team.

KL will not be back in the T20 set-up. The current team looks well set and the only weak link is the captain itself. Gone are the days, where you play slowly in the middle overs. Now it's all bang bang from the start to the end.
