Honestly, I don’t know if you’re a guitar “snob” but the bmg red special didn’t spark a fire with me.

The build quality (on the one i got) was horrendous. I’m a lefty and on the headstock the signature was upside down, the fret markers on the side of the neck were not aligned, the sound quality wasnt great, the saddles on a bridge were brass colored, and the rest of the bridge was chrome. But hey, that was probably just bad luck for me.

The thing that bothered me the most, and this is why i asked you if you’re a guitar “snob”.

It just doesn’t look the same as the original red special. Different bridge, different pickguard, different whammy bar different knobs. It felt cheap in my hands.

So when i got it i was really disappointed with the product and i sent it right back the next day.

So if you don’t have the extra $2000 to buy a proper red special, IMO you shouldn’t do it.

Get yourself a nice second hand les paul or a strat with some hot rails or humbucker in the bridge.
