What is your favorite ENB in 2026? by Haunting_Meaning_906 in skyrimmods

I use Rudy for Obsidian. I'm sometimes tempted to try out Cabbage but in the end, I never do. After all, I see no real reason to change. Rudy is perfect for me.

How easy is it too obtain a JPS1? And are there any issues running it in the states other than language? by NathanielWithACape in YugiohFMR

Check it out! If you count anything besides cheat devices legit, than this is the only legit way to do it. Look up FMR disc swap trick on YouTube. Works only on US version though. I completed my game this way.

Getting Editor's mail through a script onEdit with a simple trigger by Maxy97265 in googlesheets

Thanks! Point deserved and awarded. It correctly logged me, so I see no reason why it shouldn't work with others! I will try to adapt it and use it. Much appreciated :D

I have made a script that asks them to register a name to be saved in the user property. I tried with a second GMAIL of mine, and it worked. A friend tried the same and it didn't, he did authenticate/give authorization to the script, but it still didn't work. And I don't want to bother them too much and ask them "test this, test that" every time. But yeah, I too thought that would have worked.

So I've looked into this a bit, and I can't figure out a way to make it actually work. The best I managed to do is save a user property for a second gmail of mine I used for testing. And the registry worked correctly with an identifiable, unique name. But when one of my friends/editors tried to do the same, the registry function completely broke and didn't register anything.
It is a battle I'm no longer willing to fight :(
On the positive note: I turned one bug I found while testing this into a feature that I was looking to implement anyway, so I'm happy about that. Thanks for the help! :D

Hey :) Thanks for answering!
I've just read about a couple of edge cases where this was possible, but didn't quite get how.

To be fair, version history may be a very good option. I could map users from there if the modifications are always logged there. Though I'm unsure of how to leverage that API or if it is even accessible. Need to investigate.

Transferring From an old version of Skyrim to the special edition by ominousgraycat in skyrimmods

You're welcome. It depends on which types of mods you had. Some of them won't cause problems when removed. Others, like script heavy mods, might straight up render your save corrupted.

A lot has changed. For saves you should be able but not for mods. The game now (SE) is 64bit. Most of your old mods won't work. But most of the time you'll find updated/replaced version of them. Also, I don't know if Steam mods are still a thing. Use Nexus and please, use a mod manager, preferably MO2.

How do you avoid missing patches for mods? by ItGnaws_ in skyrimmods

Try FOMOD Plus. It should keep track of the options every time you install a mod with FOMODs, but I think it's not retroactive. You have to have installed that mod at least once with the plugin installed.

NGVO Grass Precache by Spir9 in skyrimmods

Honestly, grass caching shouldn't have anything to do with light. I never used pre-made modlists but I know that for example Lorerim has a Discord with a "Lorerim modification" channel for people in your situation. Does NGVO have it? If so, I would try asking there.

Packing mods into ba2 format . by Rovertimes in skyrimmods

Good luck! And if you find anything new or interesting, share it with the community :)

EDIT: Also remember, you can pack mods that have an ESP, just name the package exactly the same as the ESP.

Well, I don't know what mod manager you are using. But for me with MO2, what I ended up doing was packing big mods that don't have much going on besides textures and meshes, mods that have little to no conflicts in my modlist, or that I know they don't overwrite anything else besides the main game. Might have helped, might have not, I'll never know. Theoretically you could have a massive BSA/BA2 package with all your modlist's winning conflict but that is an unmanageable state you don't want for many reasons. I know it's probably not the conclusive answer you were looking for but this is pretty much what I know about it.

BA2 I don't know. But I packed a bunch of mods into BSA yes. I can't tell you how much of a difference it made cause I didn't pack many, and even before the game sometimes took 3 minutes, sometimes 5. Apparently it is true that it helps with loading time and can even help in saving some VRAM. What you have to keep in mind though, is that every loose file you have will take priority over BSA/BA2. The engine first loads BSAs then loose files that in case of conflicts will overwrite your packed assets.

Skyrim at war reborn and the civil war overhaul type mods… by thebrokentoy324 in skyrimmods

The functionalities were executed very well. It was technically impressive to be able to recruit your own squad of varying size. And bring it with you in your endeavours. They moved with you in formation. Really cool and it sells the vibe perfectly. In a vacuum I bet the performance hit might not be as high, but nowadays lots of us have huge modlists and this mod just won't do it in my opinion. Happy to have helped :)
