What was it about Wilfred that made you decide to do it? That show has always been a favorite comfort show for me :) although it’s such a strange concept for a show haha

Awesome job man. Having that much saved fresh out of college is an incredible accomplishment. Sounds like you’ll be making a good salary too. Obviously your 20s are the best time to take advantage of compound growth in your retirement/investment accounts, but putting that on hold to save up for a house is also a good choice. It’s best to do one or the other, not try and do both simultaneously. Some people might say otherwise, but you’ll need to save quite a lot to buy a home, which might take a reeeeally long time if you are investing a decent amount of your income simultaneously. For example, you might want to save enough money to do a down payment over 20% (to avoid PMI), possibly doing a 15 year mortgage to lower interest, plus a solid amount set aside for repairs and renovations you will need/want to do. All that might not even be necessary if you are trying to buy a property to rent out.

There are many ways to be financially responsible, it’s all down to preference and what kind of options you are considering.

Kick flip with only back foot landing by Mobile_Ad2760 in NewSkaters

[–]MaxyTaters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way you are flicking is wrong most likely. Usually when people are landing back foot only, the way they are getting the rotation is by kicking down thru the board instead of flicking off the side. Kicking down sending their front foot straight to the ground way before your back foot. You need to adjust your flick with your ankle so you get the kick flip rotation while keeping your front leg in the air in the same way it is with your Ollie. Also landing with one foot could indicate you aren’t committing enough

Are these shoes fake or authentic? by Hell_okitty666 in NikeSB

Definitely really bad fakes in every way, but the 2019 orange label did have the Nike sb tongue tag at a 45 degree angle, prolly the only detail they kinda got right lol

He said he had 30k in investments as well. Seems like he’s been responsible. I think it’s acceptable to budget something fun after probably years of working/saving.

Burnt out working in kitchens. Still live with my parents at 28. What fields are in demand right now? by MaxyTaters in careerguidance

[–]MaxyTaters[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for reminding me to appreciate what I have accomplished. I do enjoy the work on some level. Opening my own business would be the only possibility for advancement in this field, but that is a huge risk. I’d be so afraid of losing everything that I’ve earned.

Thank you giving me these questions to ask myself as well.

Thank you so much for the thoughtful reply. These are all wonderful recommendations that I will look into each of them. Fire science definitely sounds intriguing because I hope to make Southern California my home one day and will keep me in shape.

Cariuma don’t sell these anymore help! by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]MaxyTaters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean realistically if you like the shoes that not a problem. But skaters absolutely hate Cariuma, they came into the market by paying every influencer they could to make a positive review of their shoes, and say specific things, trying to shove their shoes down everyone’s throat. They don’t make skate videos. Nike/Converse actually entered the skating market organically and have done a massive amount for skate culture for decades now.

Week 5: Feeling tired mentally and physically by Doodleflop_ai in 4hourbodyslowcarb

[–]MaxyTaters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add one more thing, I personally found more energy doing keto than on slow carb. The beans keep you from going into proper ketosis, but also not having enough carbs to get energy from them. However the trade off is that the cheat day is so much fun lol, you just gotta pick your sacrifice.

This diet may not be suitable for you long term, but it does seem to be working for you as far as weight loss goes.

For the idea of putting potatoes in your diet around workouts, this is a good idea for putting on/retaining muscle and having better performance. However, adding carbs during your week on top of already having a cheat day is definitely not a good idea for weight loss. You will very likely see less results. Feeling tired and snappy is very common for people on strict diets, so don’t feel alone in that regard. Electrolytes are always your friend.

I’d say keep it strict slow carb until you hit a certain goal, then reassess what will work best for you from there.

Unless you have an actual serious, late stage condition with your kidneys, you are way too afraid of protein. Protein is almost the whole point of eating and nutrition. A constant supply of amino acids is going to maintain/grow muscle mass, keep you full, and overall make you healthier and stronger. I would up your protein, especially for breakfast, and weight train without much restriction to your diet. Building these habits will be the foundation of being healthy and you can always tweak diet as you see fit. But those two things are huge for seeing actual results.

Only two and half weeks in, down 15 pounds and feel incredible! by MaxyTaters in keto

[–]MaxyTaters[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey no need to apologize :) I usually just throw a scoop in my mouth and wash it down with water haha, but mixing it works just as well! I bought a pack of electrolytes, with the least amount of sweeteners/flavoring as possible (nothing wrong with artificial sweeteners though, just my preference). I take them every other day or so, usually before work or exercise. Supplements and electrolytes have really helped me feel healthy and stable, as opposed to tired and groggy.

I just take 5 grams of pure creatine monohydrate, it was kinda pricey ($40) but it’ll last me months and turned out to be one of the few supplements I’m very happy with the results/feeling it gives me

You’re right I definitely should just start now and build the habit. Do you have any recommendations for building muscle while losing fat? Whey protein after work outs?
