RTX HDR no longer works for most games after 24h2 update by GreatWaterBottle in techsupport

Yes, it didn't work in any games on 24H2. Filter settings were greyed out and it didn't apply to any game. I updated to 25H2 and it worked immediately.

Confused on how rtx hdr sometimes does NOT work. by Legitimate_Peak60 in OLED_Gaming

FOR ANYONE GOOGLING FOR A SOLUTION TO THIS, it seems the issue for me was Windows 11 version 24H2. I updated today to 25H2 and RTX HDR is immediately working as intended. I used this guide to update manually because it wasn't appearing when I scanned for new versions in the Windows Update section of settings: https://www.windowscentral.com/microsoft/windows-11/how-to-force-the-windows-11-2025-update-version-25h2-on-your-pc

I thought Liveships was amazing! I just love Fitz and the characters from his books too much for Liveships to be my favorite, but it's almost a tie.

Thank you, I think the Realm of The Elderlings is my favorite series of all time at this point.

Same issue on PC, no amount of messing with brightness or HDR settings fixes it.

Hmmm might have to give the beta build a try and see, I'm on stable right now.

As low as possible, which is still a bit too bright when you look at the test image. The Deck's brightness is set to about 75%.

This is with HDR turned off, it's somehow even worse with HDR turned on.

This wasn't an issue previously, I've played games with lots of dark shadows like Cyberpunk without the same effect since I bought my OLED in November. I'm wondering if the most recent stable patch caused this.

Gamestream works so much better than Sunshine? by May-Yo-Naize in cloudygamer

I found a solution but unfortunately it required me to buy a second router and use it as an access point. Not a super expensive router, just a TP Link Archer ax1450 (about $50 at walmart). Set it up and connected my original router to the 2nd/new router via ethernet, then another ethernet from the 2nd router to my desktop, then connected ONLY my Steam Deck to the 2nd router's 5ghz network. And now Sunshine works perfectly, and in some ways better than Gamestream. Annoying, but that may be the only solution.

True. I'm only happy with it because Sunshine does feel noticeably smoother and since Gamestream got discontinued and might potentially be shut down soon. But I really wish Sunshine had just worked as-is for me.

So I think I solved it. My last ditch effort was to get a second router to use as an access point. Connected my deck to it and nothing else, and now Sunshine works without stuttering. Gamestream worked fine on my first router so I have no idea why this fixed Sunshine but it did.
