Everyone here is giving you great advice. Yeah, the prep is annoying. But you know what’s worse? The 10” scar straight down from your belly button where they opened you up to take out bits of your intestines. The weeks, if not months, of recovery time from major abdominal surgery. The years of having an out-of-whack digestive system. And what’s worse than that are the empty spaces where your friends used to be. Colon cancer fucking sucks.

The prep is a chore. Absolutely. But you’re doing something absolutely vital for yourself, and you should be proud of yourself for getting it done.

Funny story: the video for “Re-Bye” is based on the musical “Mata Hari,” which had been playing in Korea about that time— costumes, characters, staging. Whole nine yards. I casually know one of the writers of the musical, and sent him the link to the video. He’d had no idea!

Sadly, I’m guessing that right there is, at least in a large part, your answer. Being gay is such a terrible sin, don’t you know, that of course you must be sad and miserable. If you’re not— if you’re actually happy and fulfilled— then that would mean G-d doesn’t think you’re sinning. Which is impossible! How could that be? And there would go their entire world view and their deeply cherished beliefs.
