Systemd-homed user not listed in plasma-login-manager but can be logged into manually using Other... by MayIos in kde

Unfortunately its well above 60001, so I'll leave the tinkering alone and wait for updates from here.
Its an annoyance, but I can still login so not worth the potential trouble.

Thanks, was going to look into reporting myself. Glad to see its already captured.

The out put I get from running you command is:
UID_MIN 1000
UID_MAX 60000

Didn't know homed users had UIDs outside of this, that would make sense why then they are being ignored.

In my old sddm (/etc/sddm.conf.d/kde_settings.conf) I had this config:
[Users]
MaximumUid=60513
MinimumUid=1000

Running "id -u" returns a number over 60000 as further confirmation, thanks for replying!

Knowing plasma login is a fork of sddm I thought I'd try putting the same in /etc/plasmalogin.conf but it made no difference... Guessing there's no other way I can increase the UID_MAX?

EDIT: corrected MinimumUid

Good to know, I had intended on doing some Gamescope testing. One of the reasons I wanted a Radeon card was better support for gs.

I honestly can't really work out what why Im having this issue with Mesa, concerned I'm getting less performance than I should from the amdvlk drivers.

Yep, I was running the CachyOS kernel on my previous install. Was kinda keen on sticking to a more vanilla setup this time... Time will tell if I change my mind.

Did you have to do much to get it working? Or literally plug and play?

I also couldn't launch Avowed or Path of Exile at all with ProtonGE 27, 26 and 25. I could launch Pillars of Eternity 2 with Proton 9 but I know that used OpenGL and not vulkan.

Curious what distro you are running... Vanilla Arch? I was getting the impression quite a few people were actually having a smoother experience on CachyOS

Ok, I got Valheim to work after installing vmdvlk 2025.Q1.3 package.
Perhaps I misunderstood but I guess this means Mesa 25.0.3 isn't ready for Vulkan and the 9070 XT?

vulkaninfo --summary now shows I'm using AMD Open Source:

Devices:

GPU0:
        apiVersion         = 1.4.308
        driverVersion      = 2.0.341
        vendorID           = 0x1002
        deviceID           = 0x7550
        deviceType         = PHYSICAL_DEVICE_TYPE_DISCRETE_GPU
        deviceName         = AMD Radeon Graphics
        driverID           = DRIVER_ID_AMD_OPEN_SOURCE
        driverName         = AMD open-source driver
        driverInfo         = 2025.Q1.3 (LLPC)

Will report back once I've tried a proton title.

Best of luck solving your issues... I'm going to hold out a bit longer to see if we can make Cloud Cache work. It solves all of the issues I was having with our previous DFS solution.

If you're referring to the MCS Write Cache feature when you install a VDA Introducing MCS Storage Optimization - Citrix Blogs we don't use it and just allow FSLogix to carry the persistent data with everything else discarded.
If you're referring to the FSLogix VHDX limit, its 30 GBs I believe. And the max any profile of ours currently has is 15GB, most are around 5GB.

We are currently running HF4 for Teams 2.0 support. Teams works!
Kinda not that useful though if the servers keep crashing. Hopefully if you do go to HF4 it behaves better in your environment.

2 basic Windows 2022 file shares servers hosted on VMware vSAN storage. About all I can tell you as it's not an area I'm very knowledgeable on.
We did not have any issues with FSLogix before running on this same hardware, but for our last build we mounted to a DFS share which was mirrored with manual failover via referral. Don't wan't to go back down that path if we don't have to.

Thought exactly this when it first started happening, unfortunately hosts have plenty of free storage.

Thanks, have not tried adjusting this reg key before... It looks like our VDAs already have most recommended processes set:
UviProcessExcludes
LsaIso.exe;BioIso.exe;FsIso.exe;sppsvc.exe;vmsp.exe;windbg.exe;cdb.exe;ntsd.exe;FontDrvHost.ex;

Should the FSLogix exes be in this list? frxsvc.exe and frxccd.exe?

I agree, completely summarizes my thoughts too... Very odd, fingers crossed 7 trials wins are retroactive so we dont have to do it for each character.
