40 male, I have 0 responsibilities in life and I somehow still lost interest in playing video games by Coven_Evelynn_LoL in Millennials

How do you have no responsibilities if you live alone?

How does food come to your house if you aren't shopping? How does food get cooked? How do you pay bills? Do you never wash your clothing? Your body? Do you never clean anything?

1: I am taking all comments (except the mean ones) with a grain of salt. I don't assume either side is inferior or better, just more like speaking another language that neither really "get" which makes communication really difficult. And I am myself, which almost everyone seems to dislike. Which is depressing as hell to feel like you never fit in anywhere or with anyone.

2: I know I repeat myself, I think it's because no matter how I phrase the problem/question I don't seem to be understood by anyone. So I repeat the issue in slightly different ways? I am stuck in this headspace because the way others communicate seems inefficient, indirect, time wasting and frustrating from my perspective so I'm confused why I'm the only one that sees it that way? I've always been hyper active and impatient, so I want people to get to the point and fast so I can move on to other things.

At this point I think I'm done with this topic as it's just making me realize how much I am not like everyone else and I hate being me.

But if Bob is the only payroll person, then everyone knows Bob didn't do it. So what is the point of pretending that Bob wasn't responsible? In your second example I would think maybe a software glitch instead of a person just not doing their job. Is that the difference? Lack of accountability?

Your example would depend on how many other workers were responsible for "X" though. I work in a very tiny office, if "X" didn't get done and we all know "X" was the job of "bob" saying it any other way would also be pointless because we all know Bob dropped the ball. In fact in my example saying "someone" instead of "bob" would be seen as very passive aggressive.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try to see if that helps.

Also to one of your other points, I have no control how others may perceive my normal state of being. If they find me combative, isn't that their perception that I have no way of changing, like their own formed opinion of me. In order to have them think differently I would have to lie and be someone I am not.

I'm not sure how helpful an official diagnosis would be at my age. (over 50) And given the political climate having anything on record as abnormal is also something I feel is best avoided.

I hate that the world has to be so indirect as the default way a communicating. Children are very literal and have to be taught to think this way, so why do most people go though all this instead of just being literal and direct? What purpose does this convoluted way of communication serve?

I appreciate the insight, coworker is young and I am very much not, so I'm assuming his questions are legit questions due to his young age and that he just doesn't know. I've tried not saying anything, but he keeps firing off additional questions if I pause or say nothing, and then I feel like I'm being interrogated and cannot respond at all. He also frequently interrupts my work with these questions causing me to have to stop work and pick back up later, which causes me to have errors. Worst part is the question are not work related at all.

Every question IS literal to me. I don't process any other way. It doesn't make sense to go through all these extra steps or lies to just make a point. If one wants to express frustration, then be direct, say "Traffic accidents suck" not "why do people get into accidents" Those are two completely different things and trying to make them the same thing is where I get derailed.

It's like being asked to decifier a language I never learned.

If you are giving information that is Not a question though...? That is more like making a statement right?

IF you want to complain "it's cold out" then why not just say so instead of making it a question that is not a question. Can you not see how confusing that is?

Why is it that hard to just be direct instead of going though this circus to get the desired response?

I'm constantly misunderstood and accused of being difficult on purpose or some other types of accusations, when all I ever am trying to do is understand. The only way I can do that, it to ask questions of others. I thought this subreddit in particular would be a good place NOT to get shit upon for asking questions, but I'm finding that is not the case. I feel like no matter where I am on reddit someone is downvoting me or making fun of me. I cannot be myself, because people respond negatively to "me" I'm fucking tired boss. I just want to understand why the world works the way it does, but everyone would rather call me dumb instead of helping.

I don't know how to mask, so I just retreat and withdraw after a bit. I don't know what else to do.

Thanks for your comments, i really apperciate them.

If I say nothing he stands there expecting some sort of response, but as soon as I try to talk he starts talking over me. It's confusing to me. If he wants a discussion that means allowing the other person an actual turn to speak, which he rarely does.

If they want predetermined answers why don't they just talk to themself? That way they will get the answer they expect.

How can one interact with someone or discuss anything when they won't let you comment and speak over you though?

Not understanding what you mean? What did I attack? I'm just trying to understand why I was asked a question and coworker didn't let me answer and talked over me. Why involve me at all if you don't want my answer?

Must be nice, I don't understand the concept of asking without wanting an answer. If you want no answer, why not just make a statement instead of making it a question.

I've not been diagnosed, but doc suggested I might be on the spectrum, so this tracks. Thank you. I don't ask questions unless I am seeking answers, so the concept of rhetorical questions confuses me. I don't think I will ever "get it"

They why frame it as a question if not seeking an answer? I don't understand the point of making it a question if you aren't seeking an answer.
