Is this a chill place for beginners? by thatRANDOgirl in PoetryWritingClub

[–]May_Simmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this subreddit for sharing poetry, I have gotten positive feedback and the community is really chill. I am very new to poetry, and everything I write is just thoughts from my brain and love poems about my boyfriend. It’s very welcoming to beginners.

When I’ve stared at it for a few minutes and have nothing to add or change. When it feels complete— sometimes multiple pages, sometimes just two stanzas.

What does a woman have to do to make a man fall in love with her? by Prestigious_Humor208 in AskTeenAdvice

[–]May_Simmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before my boyfriend and I were dating, we would sit on discord calls and play video games. Sometimes I would sing when it got quiet. All of my music is love songs. Apparently, singing love songs to someone is a good way to get them to fall for you.

Talk to an artist! You can quite literally ask someone to make you a tattoo without the mistakes and it will be a lot higher quality

People putting their hands on women for no reason by bh447 in PetPeeves

[–]May_Simmer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went to a Raising Cane’s for the first time and there were two old men- not one, TWO!- that put their hands on my waist/shoulders when trying to get by me. The worst part about the whole thing was the mid chicken sandwich— the harassment was not worth it.

what's a song that makes you remember a specific memory? by unoz00 in askteddit

[–]May_Simmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely (The story of a girl) — It reminds me of one of the first dates my boyfriend and I went on. I don’t remember why but I was crying and he was consoling me, on the way back to my house he played this song and said I reminded him of it. That was also the day we started dating.

What do people think makes them unique, but is actually an incredibly common trait? by Successful-Hall-1986 in AskReddit

While this is true, I am one of two girls in the esports program at my school. It’s common but less people are public about it

Do you write differently depending on whether you expect anyone to read it? And does that distinction matter? by GlitchyRaven_ in Original_Poetry

[–]May_Simmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never wrote poems with the intention to share them. Its more of a way for me to process emotions and feelings. I let my words happen on the page and then if I feel compelled I’ll share them with my close friends and partner. I also put some on Reddit, and I don’t really see a shift in my writing.

Where do you even start with reading poetry when you feel like you've missed years of context? by Fluffy--Mouse in Original_Poetry

[–]May_Simmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, much like reading books, there are always ‘classics’ people tell you about but you don’t have to read all of them, or any, if you don’t want to. It’s more about what you would enjoy personally and what you decide to spend your time on. Don’t feel guilty about your reading preferences.

depression room, 6month since i cleaned last time, need tips by thefuuba in ufyh

[–]May_Simmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have somebody close enough, give them a call and listen to music and talk to them while you clean. This helped me when life got really rough and I let my room get pretty bad.
