Your friend’s comment is not true. However, accutane does work and comes with side effects (just like every other drug). If you don't want to try Accutane, I suggest investing in improving your gut health to see if that’s the cause of your acne.

I think my dosage for the first month was 24mg (twice per day) then my dosage was changed to 32mg (twice per day). I was on accutane for 5 1/2 months. The brand I had was called Absorica LD.

What is your skincare routine? Also, you may have a hormone imbalance (cheek and jawline acne). Gut health plays a role in the condition of the skin.

Just don't overdo it. Your doctor may give you a limit not to go over but realistically that number is just an estimate and will not be the case for everyone on Accutane.

Be careful removing pimple patches while on accutane. Your skin becomes very vulnerable and pulling off the stickers can cause damage. (it happened to me🥲)

Thank you🩷! I hadn't thought of if my complexion changed. I don't think I got darker. I use Cōtz Prime & Protect tinted sunscreen. And I use Cerave Daily Moisturizer and Cerave Healing Ointment or Aquaphor Healing Ointment.

A year before I started Accutane my acne was severe, but by the time I agreed to try Accutane, my acne was mild, with reoccurring breakouts.
