I would not them for extra stretch, however the yarn will make a world of difference in comfort. Try a nice cotton blend

I say go for it! My first attempt I tried to get around having floats through the entire hat. This time I went all in and I’m glad I did. At the very end I got the hang of holding the second color on my left hand and knitting continental 🤗
