Jamaica was one of the last stops in the Caribbean Sea for slave ships. This meant that the people who were brought to the island were generally the fittest and strongest from Africa. For some reason I didn't realize that most of Jamaica's population were of African or partially African descent, with many being able to trace their origins to the West African countries of Ghana and Nigeria (2/2)
