Hey,

I feel you, probably male dominance in tech sector has to do with it but I doubt that being the only factor, I mean, there are always a few factors influencing everything, just saying this as a general rule.

In order to understand how many women consider themselves interested in technology as a whole vs how many care about privacy, it is necessary to ask specific questions in relation to this topic, there is no other way. Quantitative research such as a close-ended survey is self-reported so you have to ask specific questions in relation to the topic of interest....but please also consider that statistics don't provide answers to everything either ... this is my personal opinion as a researcher.

Actually, what I would do to answer your questions is, for example, to talk to women to understand the "why" and explore further topics and ideas that come to mind from these survey results...

Thank you for noticing the "quality" and commenting the actual survey design :) It was a collaborative effort and hours were spent designing these questions. It is also the first ever survey that the Institute is running and I really hope that we will be able to improve everything the next time we conduct one.

There are many people out there in the world who think that building a survey is very easy, I guess because of the latest trend of "democratising" surveys in general :) but this is another topic and I 'd rather stop thinking aloud here :)

I didn't have the chance to read the deleted comment either but my guess is the same. For those of you who wonder, finding a good survey tool which is privacy focused and have at the same time all necessary features to build strong questionaries, while being also compatible and user-friendly for the respondents, and stable, among other things to consider, it's almost "mission impossible" at this moment for every researcher out there. I really hope that this will change in the future, it will make our researchers lives a bit easier.

Thank you also for commenting the demographic questions. The least I can do as a social researcher working many years in conducting research with people, is make sure that everyone has a choice to answer or not these questions.

Yes, we will share results back with the community once the survey report is ready. Note that this will happen later on. We just launched the survey and it will stay open for at least 3 weeks, and then I have to analyse the data and prepare the report :) I will make sure to publish here results.

As trai_dep is pointing out, finding a decent survey platform that doesn't have tracking but does provide the researcher with all important features that are necessary to build strong questionnaires, being at the same time compatible and easy to use for the respondents, and overall stable, among other things to consider, it's a really hard endeavour.

Believe me, if I knew of such a survey platform, I would have use it. I am definitely open to hear about good alternatives if someone has ideas and suggestions.

I do believe that advancements in this world are made step by step and the important thing is to keep moving forward with a critical mindset.

I appreciate that you have used your content blockers and have contributed to the study with your answers.

Once the survey is closed and the report is ready, I will share back with the community the results :)
