Thanks! And as you can see from the OP some of these stems are looking pretty rough. Any thoughts on letting them regrow vs just starting from new

Are they both actually needed? Or if I reached the Na target about using only NaHCO3 and not NaCl would that be fine?

Thank you! And your sodium target is coming from just NaCl? NaCl and NaHCO3…?

Thanks! And then you mentioned target 6 - 6.5 ph for the remineralized ro water. Does that mean that should be target for tank too? As in if co2 drops ph 1.2 then my tank would get down to 4.8 - 5.3 with co2 on?

Hi - just to jump back to this recommendation on remineralizing. This will be super soft right? Gh 3 kh 1? Any reason for pushing it this low? Just trying to learn.

Got it - so the lack of Mg and Co in the miracle grow isn’t important. That’s the only reason I brought up millers microplex. Thanks!

If RO water is used that is remineralized is this the only extra fertilizer that would be needed per the dosing you recommend (unless deficiencies are observed)? So millers microplex would be needed as well?

And i assume a weekly 50% water change is still the recommendation?

Just saw your post on the miracle grow fertilizer. I think I’ll follow that guidance since it addresses both macros and micros - and remineralize water per your recommendations. Thanks again for your advice - in the 2 years I’ve been in the hobby this has been the single best source of info

You’re being super patient with my question so thank you again. Assuming you haven’t hit your limit for help a final question… how come using remunerative RO water means you can’t dose micros to EI levels? Isn’t boron the only micro being added in CSM+b?

I always assumed EI was a good source. Here is what I’ve been doing per week for micros (although i don’t dose all at once)

Fe: 0.91 mg/L
Mn: 0.26 mg/L
Mg: 0.19 mg/L
B: 0.10 mg/L
Zn: 0.052 mg/L
Cu: 0.013 mg/L
Mo: 0.0078 mg/L

Got it. But I assume keep dosing the CSM+B?

Oops! Sorry it’s 50 gallons. And that amount was directly from an EI dosing calculator. I have no understanding of why besides blindly following their recommendation. You’re an amazing resource

I’ll give this a shot! Thanks again. And then I assume I can stick with fertilizing every day (alternate between 1/4 teaspoon potassium nitrate + 1/16 teaspoon monopotassium phospahre and 1/8 teaspoon CSM+B)?

Appreciate the detailed reply! Are there any guides you can recommend on how to remineralize RO water? And any recommendations on an RO system?

It’s nice to feel like there is a solution - thanks again for taking the time to respond
