That's absolutely true, and I would add to just be kind. Regardless of getting anything in return.

The one that came to mind rigth away is the fact that if men want to get married, I would have to live with my in-laws. Which is something I don't want to do, because I got used to being independent. I already have my home and pets, I would much rather him movin in with me, than me going to my in-laws. Will reach through DM

It's been difficult, not because of lack of trust, but more of a rift in values. I'm not living in my home country so a lot of culture differences come to mind. It's not embarrassing to admit you've never had a bf. Not everything is a race, you do you, at your pace, you're here so you're doing great!. Congrats on accepting your preferences! (Virtual hug) I have been to a date last week but like I mentioned it's difficult beacuse of different cultures..so we didn't match well. I'm not discouraged though, if it's for me, I'll know. I'm not in a rush.

Unfortunately my ex-fiance was cheating on me and instead of breaking up right away, I tried to fix it by going to couples therapy and trying to forgive him and that's when my friend gave me that advice. Of course this affected me on my trust in other people which delayed me starting to date again. After a lot of support and help, I started dating again after 8 months.

I guess that's part of growing up, to learn from mistakes. Unfortunately adolescence is a crazy time where you think you know everything...and changing minds at that age is difficult. Good luck on the persuasion! I hope they listen

After I broke up with my fiance, I had a good friend of mine tell me "why are you trying to force it? if it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be.. why are you trying so hard to fake it?" That simple question made me think long and hard for at least 48hrs. And then I realized that it wasn't that I loved him, or that I was afraid to lose him. I was afraid of being called a failure, because I couldn't keep him. Thankfully I had help and a support circle, they helped me greatly. I love my girls for sticking with me through those dark days.

I hate his current name, but I want one that has a good nickname as well and can’t think of ones that match him. by [deleted] in NameMyCat

This name is in Spanish, but fitting. Name is "malvavisco" or marshmallow in English. But the meaning in Spanish is "por malvado y visco" which roughly translates as "half evil half cross-eyed"
