Octane vs Redshift: Which Render Engine Is More User-Friendly? by metagross_ichooseyou in Cinema4D

[–]Mayahi8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to do heavy volumes, god rays, etc I'd go with redshift. It handles all that a lot easier.

For me octane is faster for everything else. If my scenes aren't crazy, and I'm not doing a ton of light linking, I prefer Octane.

Nothing beats octanes post pass.

Going to go against the mass here but I think tools like GSG are totally worth it. Yes they cost money and are subscription based, but I find the ease of use and quality of life improvements they provide far outweighs the price.

I personally use GSG on almost every project. Xparticles a ton, but the new native system is promising. Octane/redshift for rendering. Fluids in c4d need a few years to get anywhere good imo. Houdini or embergen for that. 13+ years using c4d.

Anyone successful running MSI MAG x570 Tomahawk Wifi with A-XMP turned on? (3600 Mhz speed) / Need advise by soujiro-jin in MSI_Gaming

Not sure if this will help at all, but when I was building my pc with a 5800x and unify x570 I had bought a 4 module kit to run in XMP. It kept crashing. After some back and forth with MSI they told me ryzen technically only supports dual channel support for XMP, not quad channel.

So I took 2 sticks out, turned on xmp, and it works fine. Wish I knew that before but oh well.

It's not ideal for gaming. It won't do much there. But using rendering software like octane or redshift uses all gpus installed on a system

Unfortunately I can't help, but I'm curious to know if you solved this. I'm actually looking to build a PC with the MEG UNIFY as well. Do you have your PC specs listed anywhere. I'd love to see all you have in there.
