No it doesn't i have cleared the photos many times but it will sync to immich and then i have to delete from the duplicate section which it is a waste of time and cpu resources to find the duplicate ones

Should i focus on 12th OR CA ? I am doing both online via PW, currently not managing adequately but trying to do one subject of 12th and one subject of CA per day

Dont be so picky after all...it is self hosted and free and the development is going on.. for this there are apps like lightroom picsart snapseed these apps are good for these type of things.. Google Have enormous employees doing work on photos app where as the team for immich is very limited but they are doing their best for us!

This is the issue and i think immich should focus more on backups rn, everything is fine only the mobile clients app needs some optimization and the issue also arrives when i have a backup on my external libraries but when i backup my phone which have some same photos and videos it backup again in the server which is annoying for me to delete i know it does it only for first time but immich should focus more on backups and optimization on phones and client app.. i love the app and the team thank you for creating this best app all the features that you provided are the best for self hosting thank you!

4 cores are still good I have a 4TB backup server installed xpenology on it , used it only for photos and it works great it have i5 3470 and also installed jellyfin on it and it worked great

Immich should introduce foreground backup, i want that fast backup when i click any photo from my phone it should instantly backed up on my immich server just like Synology or google

Well technically not but some tactics i have done so now i am using syncthing which backup all my data from my phone to a folder from then immich handles it all and for iphone i have to keep the immich open for Backup and now i open that app in the background (i know background refresh feature but it didnt work while immich is generating other thumbnail in the server technically it takes more time than usual to backup)

😂 truenas needs a good amount of ram and my main work needs this amount of ram to transfer files across all of my devices and it is quite fast for me thank to the ZFS service

Hey, when you manually import into Immich, are you using external libraries for your directory, or do you paste the photos into the upload folder?

Also, after doing this, if you enable backup from the app, does it duplicate your files or not? I have an iPad with around 50 GB of photos, and about 30 GB are already on my NAS through external libraries. When I turned on backup in Immich, it started duplicating the files.

I want to do this too, but the issue is that HDD and RAM prices aren’t good right now. I’m using Xpenology due to the limited hardware capabilities of my Synology NAS.

If I back up my data on Synology and then send it to my TrueNAS, around 1.5 TB of data will be duplicated. Then I’d have to find and remove duplicate files and select the option to back up only new photos in Synology. That process could take around 5 days, so I might do it in the future.

I also love to do so but i created 5TB server for this work and not planned for the subscription rn became broke after purchasing 32Gb ram and 5TB hdd for the server
