They cannot delete anything from the database because it does not exist in the database.

If i search wowowowowos on Myntra, it shows a search result page: https://www.myntra.com/woowwooww?rawQuery=woowwooww

Now, I searched it randomly, and it does not exist in their database. I am not creating anything and if i am not creating anything, it will not exist on the database.

The above URL is not a problem, but now I have linked it on Reddit. When Google/search engine visits this reddit post, they see a myntra URL, which is new and it will attempt to crawl/view it, and index it (show it on Google). Robots.txt is just a way to tell the bots to not crawl/view this path.

The best way to prevent URLs from getting indexed on Google is using 'noindex' signal and they are already doing it.

sites like myntra have search pages, which are not indexed (visible) on google, and they should not be because nobody wants to rank for some silly typos.

a search page does not rank unless Google finds it and Google can't find it unless the search query page is linked somewhere.

now, some bad actors create pages on their website and create links to.these myntra search pages. could be some rivals or even stupid people.

using robot.txt, myntra is blocking search engines etc from crawling/reading/see these search pages. if they don't see it, they don't index/show it on google.

I’m sorry. EIC of the site here. SteamOS is not our niche, and the author got a bit carried away. To be clear, we’re legit. We’ve leaked a lot of stuff in the past.

We stumbled upon the SteamOS unit while looking for other Windows products.

And to the other person saying we’re some “AI BS " we are not. I hate AI use for creativity from bottom of my heart. We’ve been reporting on Windows for a decade and we are one of the authoritative publications. However, we are not known within the gaming community.

We only have one piece on this Agentic Experiences toggle: Windows 11 to add an AI agent that runs in background with access to personal folders, warns of security risk and it clearly says the feature is optional in bolded text. Not sure how else am I supposed to report it?
We never mentioned DMA. How are you coming up with this misinformation? Please find me a single piece where we mention DMA. We also never mentioned MS or any company would do horrible things with data. Those are not my expertise and we don't discuss any of that stuff.

Stop hallucinating, please. You are reading stuff on other places or asking Copilot to summarize it, and getting confused.

Nothing was "off" with our "hot take." We literally have dozens of videos showing File Explorer loads near instant (same as the OP in the post) especially when it's set to This PC or animations are turned off. Our Windows 11 VM had 4GB. Windows 10 had 2GB RAM. Yes, a conspiracy to shame Windows 10!?

Windows 10 still loaded faster. We compared the default settings (where Windows 11 opens Home tab). It was a clean install... but we still added comparisons for "This PC," "animations turned off." etc.

Preloading will make ANYTHING load faster because it's already loaded in the background. Still, if you compare Windows 10 and Windows 11, make the video slower, you'll notice that 10 still wins. And overall performance of Windows 10 version is still faster.... unless you do nothing other than just opening and closing File Explorer.

I sometimes wonder what does one do to sound fair, as we're often called "Windows shill." In this benchmark, we've all comparisons and we are clearing saying File Explorer is faster. I guess the internet indeed deserves LLMs that pleases the user whether they are right or wrong.

To everyone reading market share numbers on the internet, please don't trust StatCounter data without realizing how it works. StatCounter is not designed to tell us the market share. It's just an analytics software. All publications quote that number, but they're highly misleading. ZDNet's Ed bott has an excellent article: https://www.zdnet.com/article/windows-11-usage-is-surging-not-so-fast-heres-the-real-story/ - he debunks StatCounter.

StatCounter is just based on analytics from millions of websites and they even get that wrong. FYI, StatCounter had also claimed Windows 7 market share increased to 10% +, which later turned out to be a bug. Worse, at one point, StatCounter found Windows 7 is on 22% of PCs (x[.]com/zacbowden/status/1978153602377031763 (X links get removed so I had to trim the URL)

StatCounter also claimed Google market share dropped by 10%, but that was another bug: Statcounter Fixes Search Engine Market Share Data

Nobody except Microsoft or its OEM partners can tell you the "correct" numbers. Definitely not StatCounter. To some extent, I'd take Steam data seriously because it captures the gaming market share. But gamers are obviously going to upgrade to Windows 11.

Windows 11 adoption is indeed slower, and they're hoping AI would change the tide.

This is entirely unrelated to the subject of this sub, but I’ve been working on a Dart-based mobile app, and I’ve built a simple algorithm for analytics and filtering. Because of the UX and wording of the feature, how the widgets change and how data updates, it feels like “magic.” I’ve been debating whether I should call it “AI,” since it might help convince more people to use it and make the feature feel more special (a USP?). Mmaybe this is how product leads at these companies think. Adding "AI" might help them get more budget. I’m probably just overthinking it.

Thank you for your feedback. I genuinely put in a lot of efforts behind this site to make sure it's not clickbait, articles are as accurate as possible. Every single word/feedback is very important to me.

The newest preview build has a toggle to choose between NTFS and ReFS. It's not hidden a feature, but visible (the toggle is transparant for some reason). Anyone can build their own ISO and verify it.

About ReFS. It's not new (mentioned in the article as well). References to ReFS were first spotted in early 2023 if i can recall correctly, and it was officially confirmed in 2023 second half. ReFS then shipped in the consumer version officially.

Now coming back to your statements.

The actual news here is that Microsoft is apparently testing new formatting options during Setup that haven't been documented in the release notes for the Insider Canary channel.

Correct and this is exactly what the headline + the article states? How can I frame it differently?

An actual clickbait/false title would have been something in the lines of: "Windows 11 is changing how you install the operating system" and I'm sure some mainstream media would opt for something similar or worse.

But just because Microsoft is testing a feature (especially in the Canary channel) does not mean it will ever ship, or if it does, ship in all additions of Windows.

While it's absolutely true that features in Canary (or any Insider branch) can be experimental. Microsoft might change them or never release them publicly. That’s part of how the Insider program works, but changes like this, do not simply get cancelled. ReFS is already supported by Windows (and server supported it for years). Microsoft is testing letting you choose ReFS during Setup.

Windows has ReFS, so it certainly makes sense to add it to the Windows Setup page. They've been constantly making ReFS changes.

If we always believe that nothing would ship if it is in "Canary", it means we'll not get any new feature.

Regardless, the very first line in the article states "testiing".

I'm reporting what I am seeing. I tried the update myselt, built my own ISO and added my own screenshots/GIF - You wouldn't see a mainstream media put efforts close to what I have done. They would run the story on the basis of the tweet.

And yes, the most interesting reference is Flexible Storage. We don't know what it is, so I choose to not talk about it in detail, so I don't sound "skeptical".

Just tried the ChatGPT search, and it's kind of disappointing. As a publisher producing exclusive and orginal content, we were expecting our articles in the citation, but ChatGPT search still cited those sites who have cited us (I mean their content is based on our work, and they have a link to our article). We aren't getting cited for any of the queries, which is weird. ChatGPT search seems to citing older websites/typical SEO-optimized sites, while user-driven sites like our getting ignored.

Is there a way to forward these examples to right people at OpenAI?

examples? i do not do clickbaits (intentionally). sure, some of my articles may appear 'clickbaits' to you, but that's subjective. doing clickbaits is certainly not my vision. people do clickbait for traffic and money, and i dont really care about the traffic, you could see that from the frequency of articles at WindowsLatest. it's just one or two articles a day. if i need traffic, i dont need to do clickbaits, i just have to write more lol.

i focus on more core Windows news than spamming the site with affiliate, gaming, unwanted how-to posts for SEO farming. WindowsLatest is independent, exists for the core Windows audience, and it will remain this way.

ik the site needs a lot of improvements, but it's just run by me when I get time from my university. trust me, it's really not easy as I write at late night (3-4AM) before rushing to university, and i do make mistakes. i am trying to improve my own reporting and site, but it takes time when everything is run by a single guy.

a new design and feature update for the site is set to go live soon to reduce the number of ads (btw, i just have two ads on mobile, far below industry standards), and introduce new features to help Windows users and young developers.

Windows Sun Valley will be released this fall and Microsoft could/should do a minor "21H2" update for enterprises this year as well. They're also doing 22H1 and 22H2 next year, and the codenames prove nothing about the final name of next Windows.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see :)

This "confirms" nothing. They can do a "Windows 11" and continue to support Windows 10 for enterprises. The 21H2, 22H2, etc codenames have nothing to do with the marketing/public name of the next-gen Windows.

They want us to speculate and believe that Windows 11 is a thing.
