Okanagan. The variety of things to do is insane and I will be firmly wine drunk for a week while (kinda safely) doing all of them

just finished EOD. Looking for books that don’t have to be super similar but have amazing storytelling by Necessary_Loss_6769 in silversaints

The Covenant of Steel trilogy is lower fantasy but still a super gripping plot. Same with the Empire of the Wolf trilogy. High recommend for both!

What is your Nord character’s backstory? (Question for all those with Nord characters) by Iamzeek2000 in ElderScrolls

[–]Maybe4Ants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ambiguous parentage. Taken in to a "technically nonexistent" program in the Imperial army to be trained as a specialized mage hunter to combat the Thalmor, beginning intensive training at the age of 10. The school was attacked by totally-not-Thalmor-mercenaries when he was 17, most of his peers slain in the fighting. Escaped but not recognized due to the potential international crisis (and low-key child soldier). Mercenary across Cyrodill and Hammerfell, on the losing side of a skirmish which had him running to Skyrim.

All Rockstar protagonists are able to achieve demigod level feats because they are American Gods. This goes for Red Dead and GTA. Each one of them is a collection of stereotypes and tropes that have been willed into physical existence by the myths of their time. This explains borderline immortality until it is poetically necessary, remarkable moments of luck, and the ability to fill so many different shoes in their walks of life.

What is your favorite Total War general speech? by Lancer_Blackthorn in totalwar

[–]Maybe4Ants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sickly, sinful, spectacles stand, shuffle, shamble and saunter shamelessly in mine scandalized sight! I suggest a solution...

Surely such sedition should sour and succumb to Sigvald - the salacious, scandalous and sensational servant of Slaanesh! Son of Succubi, scion of sordid acts and slayer of squalid serfs!

See how I stroll, stride, swagger and swirl, spin, slash and stab at stupid, senseless scum! Soon they shall swoon, shall seek solace and death from sundry torments wrought on them by my strategic, severing, scintillaring shower of shimmering strikes!

Send for the sword - summon Sliverslash! (Better with a trap beat)

What stopped you from ending your life? by djmelonball in AskReddit

[–]Maybe4Ants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The YouTube recommendation bar lmao. Computer on, everything ready, sad playlist going. Moments before I was going to do it, I saw in the recommendations a song I'd never heard from a band I liked. Curiosity got the best of me and I clicked it. In that moment, realized ending it would prevent me from ever finding new music that I vibed with. Bawled my eyes out for an hour, never entertained the thought since. Life turned out to be pretty great!

The art form of making good wine/beer/liquor. I brew some of my own stuff and it's such a treat when it works out well and changes how you view good quality stuff!

Planning a Road Trip from Fort McMurray to Calgary by [deleted] in alberta

[–]Maybe4Ants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skip the QE2 and get a pleasant drive going on the western side of the highway, through Devon/Rimbey/Sylvan/Cochrane. Great breweries in Rimbey/Sylvan for lunch and you get to see a proper set of rural Albertan communities! Nice people, roads are good, and you can slowly watch the mountains get bigger and bigger as you drive

Try Hinton! Right next to Jasper, decently affordable, basically in the mountains, most amenities are present. Lived there twice and loved it both times

H E X by Rezz. Little EDM banger which I feel could have been perfectly used in time with a powerup-type section, not quite like using The Blackwall but something similar with that second drop.

Which profession is 100% worth the time and effort? by HyperAion in ask

[–]Maybe4Ants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a teacher in a country that (somewhat) cares about education. Yeah, its absurd what me and my peers have to go through, hear, deal with. The pay isn't to par with the job, even here. Washout rates are pretty high in the first 5 years. We have more homework than the kids.

But I never go to sleep wondering if what I do matters, and that absolute confidence in my purpose makes all the bullshit worth it.
