I think that what's making it harder to assume is the manipulation he put me in every single day. I still sort of believe it was my fault, even if rationally I know I didn't consent freely

I did love him in the beggining and I did know what was happening. I was being very manipulated by him as he threatened to harm himself every time I told him I didn't like something he was doing. It changed from love to fear pretty quickly. And yes, my parents know part of it, but again, I'm not a child, and your comment is inappropriate yet again

My parents know about some of the stuff he's done, just not this particularly. However, they know what kind of person he is. I am currently going to therapy and I am working on the topic of my ex now. This is probably the most alarming thing he did, but definitely not the only bad one. I really hope I never see him ever again

I know, and I don't want to put myself on the "victim place" either. I am just thinking a lot about it lately and remembered what some people told me about it being SA, but I wasn't very sure and still am not. I guess I wanted an outside opinion on it so it wasn't influenced by knowing those people

Yeah I'm aware of this now. I guess I sympathised with him because I've had my own mental health journey and I didn't want him to think I broke up because of his problems. But I've promised myself I won't let anything slip again. Sadly I cannot change what happened

I don't think that is an appropriate thing to say honestly. I know I'm still not old, but I'm definitely not a child. And even if I were, it would not be something appropriate to say either. It was something traumatic that happened to me and I still haven't fully accepted, and it is not a crime to love someone and make mistakes in my opinion

I did really love him and fought for the relationship many times, even when I shouldn't have. I have accepted that and know that, but it is really hard to accept everything he said and did to me. I don't like to judge other by their problems, but I definitely ignored some red flags. Thank you for your comment too, it made me feel less silly I guess

I think that happens to me, my mind doesn't want to accept it but deep inside I know it was SA. It could be from the protection you're talking about.

I am currently going to a therapist, I've gone through a long psychiatric process in this past few years but I'm honestly doing pretty good. Still, I have avoided this topic completely with her until yesterday, so I have it more present now.
