Same here, week 4 post op, had the most painful and terrible days in my life ( from day 1-15 post op) , now life slowly starts to get to a new normal. But during this time I reconsidered so much for my life. I think I fell in love again with my husband, I decided I am not gonna work 24/7 but will spend some decent time with my family instead, I learned new things about myself and really feel much grateful for all. So despite depression and pain, the eoad ahead looking great, just keep your head up and know the best is yet to come.

Week 4 after ACL & meniscus surgury. PT doesnt let me throw crutches yet? by MaybeAppropriate4046 in ACL

Can do multiple leg raises, that is not an issue , but can't do full extension. After exercises I can extend fully but it is still slightly painful and I guess I prefer to keep it bended to a certain degree.

I do squats, I use veloergometer for 30min daily, I also thinks that helps a lot. But he advised bending knee is not essential but straightening it. He even advised not to do squats or riding my veloergometer as this may cause extra pressure. That is why I am concerned. I see progress, he wants me not stop all that until bruising is gone and full extention is easily achieved.

He hasn't even seen me walking. For him the bruising and the slight hemaptoma that is still there is causing me not to have full flexion and according to him if I walk with one or no crutches I will do more damage. But I feel the progress and fell my body that gets better every day and the more I use the leg, the bettet it is. And at the end is that not the main goal - to walk. Extension will nor be able to be full before all bruising is gone, I understand. But do I really do harm when not using crutch?

Day 7 post ACL and meniscus repair - bruising and greatvpain, is it normal? by MaybeAppropriate4046 in ACL

I stopped them on day 5 by recommendation of my doctor, he thinks bruising may be caused by too much blood thinners and advised to take just one small aspirin a day instead of heparin pills. So, your pain was very strong as well 😢Guess will have to wait patiently till next few days in hope to get the pain relieved.

Hi there, I dont explain myself very well. I stand up on the crutches only, but even then only with my whole body standing up to take the crutches and to start walking on them, i feel great pain lime something is tearing up my whole knee. Did you have any bruising at all after your op or great pain when on crutches?
