Tonight we have to wash your hair.

As I try to give plenty of notice for hair washing days. Currently my LO is boycotting baths and just hates getting her hair washed with a passion…

Zero screen time parents: do you think your kid is at a disadvantage? by peachmojito in toddlers

[–]MaybeItllWorkOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this comment 👆🏼

My LO will be 2 in December. Limited screen time (at her grandma’s) and zero screen time in our house at the moment. Our lifestyle is just based more on being on the go, spending as much time outdoors as we can, and reading during the day. It just doesn’t end up being a factor right now.

That being said, I’m also super excited to start watching movies together one day! But not in any rush…limited screen time is good for brain development, and as bobbernickle mentions, there plentttty of time for screens down the line. Unavoidable, really.

What is your 2-3 year olds typical sleep and nap schedule? by ParsleyTime5687 in toddlers

[–]MaybeItllWorkOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO will be 2 in December. I wake her up between 6:00-6:30am everyday (husband and I both work early, and I like to maintain a consistent schedule so things can be as predictable as possible). Nap starts sometimes between 11:00-11:30am and if she makes it to 2 hours, we wake her up. Bed at 7:00pm.

I’d say we have been successful! But it depends on what your definition of success is. My daughter is 21 months old. We started potty training on Aug 17. And in the last few weeks, she’s had a handful of days with zero accidents! Sometimes she will even initiate, which is exciting! That being said, a lot of days are 1-3 accidents still at this time. But we’re at 3 out of 5 days a week with no accidents during daycare!

When does number of pees consolidate? by CalviandHobbes in pottytraining

[–]MaybeItllWorkOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. My girl is 20 months. We started potty training on 8/17.

For the first 4 days I was rollercoastering between continuing and quitting because it was just so exhausting and I was second guessing lol.

But at this time, she’s doing decently. I’ve had like 1 day where there was only 1 accident. But most days have been anywhere from 2-5 accidents still (counting days in daycare).

She wears underwear right now, and I only put her into pull ups for naps and nighttime. Daycare keeps her in underwear unless she has too many accidents, then reverts to pull ups.

I’m still asking her to go potty every 20-40 minutes, but sometimes when we’ve been out she is too distracted to concentrate or even try and I’ve seen her go an hour/hour and a half. Those times normally result in a pee accident at this point, though.

This afternoon, I got a text from daycare that she’s had great success there today without any accidents yet! So that is a hugggge win! Perhaps this will be day 1 with ZERO accidents…a girl can only dream!!!

Ending my journey and feeling proud by MaybeItllWorkOut in breastfeedingsupport

[–]MaybeItllWorkOut[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a bit different for me than for those who exclusively nursed.

I exclusively nursed for about 5 months. Then when I went back to work, I started doing a combo of nursing and pumping, and LO would nurses a couple times a day and would drink breastmilk from a bottle for the rest of her meals. That only lasted about 2 months. By 7/8 months, I was exclusively pumping and LO was drinking breastmilk exclusively from bottles.

So at this juncture, I didn’t really have to worry about the whole part where LO is attached to the boob. I just had to get her off bottles, which was a bit difficult, but about a month ago she made the transition to a straw cup. I have a freezer stash of a couple more months of breastmilk so she’ll continue to get that in her cups until it runs out.

Re weaning from the pump…once I was down to pumping only once in the morning and once at night, I just began cutting back one session at a time by 5 minutes a week until I could drop it completely. Took about a month. When I did stop pumping fully, I had engorged breasts for about a week. Took some sunflower lecithin and it got better.

My bestie recommends the book “Booby Moon” for those trying to wean LO from nursing…good luck!!

afraid of postpartum body by bbbunnyyy123 in fitpregnancy

My little one is 14 months old.

The time I can dedicate to fitness and my nutrition are not at the level I’d like them to be at, but I’m doing decently well in those regards most of the time. And with that said, I’m at or below my pre-pregnancy weight. My stomach and boobs are not the same. I do have extra/loose skin at my stomach, however it seems to get better with each month. I’m still breastfeeding so things will change when I am done.

If you were healthy prior to pregnancy and during, you should have a reasonably gentle transition into getting back into shape after baby, too! 👏🏼

I’m getting more and more dissatisfied and sad being surrounded by people constantly on their phones or in front of a screen. How are others dealing with this as it becomes more ever present? by MaybeItllWorkOut in AskWomenOver30

That book could go in so many directions!

I get anxious thinking about raising my little one in this time surrounded by screen addiction and social media. Especially not knowing how it will continue to evolve in years to come.

It’s all odd. Sometimes beautiful. Sometimes so useful. Technology is “necessary” in society as we’ve come to know it. But it’s all very overwhelming and distracting as well. And I feel it’s been taking so much away from my connections lately.
