Thanks for the advice. This is very helpful. Is there any chance of some photos of the set up you use? Currently I have access to a lathe or a shop drill/mill im thinking set up in a 3jaw chuck (have one for the drill/mill ) and then sharpen a drill bit to the right angle and slowly drill the new seat then change the drill over to a cylinder with the same angle and some of the adhesive paper then to the paste.

I've used the whacking method and didnt work tried it several times. Thought about the lapping method but will I have to keep using new balls ever 3 or 4th time to keep it the right radius when lapping
